  • Yes, the garmin does sync steps with MFP, as long as it's the only device connected to your account! My issue was that I still had my Fitbit linked so the calorie adjustment was coming from that instead. Once I got rid of that, it was fine.
  • I got mine yesterday - I'm seeing if I can replace a Fitbit One+Polar HRM with one device. My usual method is to sync my Fitbit with MFP, and add my cardio exercise manually using data from the Polar. In theory I thought the Garmin would eliminate the need to do any manual input, but it doesn't quite work like that. The…
  • That's interesting to hear about the Aria scales, for the money they charge you'd think they would be decent. I did see a review on Amazon that said their reading improved after a few updates, do you know if yours are fully updated?
  • I have some Tanita Innerscan ones that measure body fat, muscle mass, water, bone mass, metabolic rate, etc. They were £100 but I got them on sale for £25 years ago. I find the body fat % thing to vary about 2-3% depending on the time of day, so first thing in the morning it reckons I'm about 17%, whereas if I measure when…
  • Black licorice is the best kind! I prefer the sweeter versions though, I tried some salty dutch licorice and that was a bit of an acquired taste, to put it politely!! Licorice bullets and chalk are awesome though...
  • Check your sensor to make sure it's working properly? The batteries could need changing, or it could be faulty. I had a problem with mine where it would randomly read my heart rate at 0 and then jump to 190 every few minutes! I got a new strap (which is a better design anyway) and it's worked perfectly ever since.
  • The HRM should be more accurate because it is monitoring how hard you're working, while the Fitbit can only monitor movement. Having said that, the Fitbit does work well for activities involving whole body movement, but it's not as good for things like yoga or weightlifting where you aren't always moving that much. I have…
  • Hi Rachel! Good luck with P90X, it's a great program! I've got 4 weeks till the end and I really am in the best shape of my life. If you stick with it you'll definitely see results :)
  • Just about clinging onto being 38 for one more month :( My goal is to have a six pack before I get to 40 :) It's getting there but the last few pounds are proving quite stubborn!! Feel free to add me :)
  • Yes, I'm up in Peterborough, although originally from near Manchester.
  • I've only just got round to adding people on here... I've added people who are looking for more friends, and accept all requests. Haven't deleted anyone yet but it is nice to get people that interact, otherwise what's the point in adding?
  • HRM - heart rate monitor for measuring calories burned during exercise. They are usually a watch plus a chest strap, and Polar is a popular brand of HRM. I've had a few Polar ones and definitely recommend them. Personally I'm a gadget fan so like the techier models, but the basic ones will do for most people. Mine is an…
  • Fitbit is pretty accurate for things like walking, there are various reviews online that say it's one of the most accurate of that type of device. I have one and also have a Polar HRM. I've compared the two when I play badminton and the calorie burn is pretty similar on both, so I do think Fitbit works well. Where it…
  • Hi, I just sent a join request too :)
  • I used to get these but stopped soon after finding this site! Because I just went for the "nice" options rather than the healthy ones, the calorie count was usually around 600-700 and I still found myself hungry throughout the day. Now I just eat normally but keep an eye on the amount. I did like the Graze boxes but they…
