  • See how that works for you as keep trying until you find what works for your body. I was stuck, couldn't lose weight after going vegan for 6 months, no meats. I think the substitutes were worse for me personally and the vegetables bothered me (IBS). I am doing low carb more than Keto but really upped my protein struggling…

  • I think it is about loving yourself and caring for yourself and remembering your health is more important than some food you think you cannot limit or give up. Wishing you much success. I am your age and just began once again and am losing slowly - 16 pounds in 10 weeks after a drastic dietary shift where I expected more…
  • I used to go to a massage therapist who pushed those body wraps. I do believe if you have a special occasion and want to look an inch or two slimmer it isn't going to harm you if you can afford it. Of course as soon as you are well hydrated again you bloat out but you will measure thinner after the wrap and look better in…
  • The power is all within you - you can do it. I have been struggling with my weight my entire life. Many years maintaining, many years 60 pounds over - def an emotional eater. I'm over it and realize that no food is better than the psychological boost I get from looking the best I can and not worrying about looking fat in…
  • Personally I don't like to wear too tight clothes because I look heavier and they look unattractive. What I have been doing is buying clothes that barely fit and I need to lose 5 or 10 pounds to wear. I have intermediate weight loss goals and one is for an upcoming vacation. I bought some new things for that and am on…
  • Not sure if you mean you have no calories left? "and running till 11:00/12:00 pm I wind up starving and having minimal, if any calories at night." My job has different shifts and my most challenging schedule was ending at 11pm. Even if I had dinner during my meal break I still wanted to eat after work so maybe habit so it…
  • OMG I used to eat an entire bag of reese's peanut butter cups - the family size - about a pound. Oh on the day I binged on the bag of candy it wouldn't have been unusual to have eaten 3 or 4 slices of pizza for dinner before it. Fast forward to Friday....I planned to go over my calorie count and have a binge splurge meal…
  • If you don't you may be eating back too many calories. I was eating 1600 calories and couldn't understand why not losing. I'm older and may be my metabolism but had to but down to 1200 and less to get the scale to finally move - I only lost 3 lbs in 3 months at 1600 and I have over 50 lbs to lose. My doctor did offer to…
  • I was also going to suggest a lot can change over the years and allergy testing is much better. Go and get retested and get to the specifics. The nature of my allergies have changed quite a bit over the years and also have changed when I have moved to different parts of the country. You may also be able to use supplements…
  • Congratulations on your success. I looked at that app and it is very similar to run keeper. I used the free version of run keeper and it links to my fitness pal the last time I was active here and liked it a lot, I challenged myself to improve my time/distance, etc. Now I just use my fitbit and that is not as much as a…
  • I'm taking the medication but meet the criteria but am under close medical supervision with regular bloodwork and office visits although I am in generally good health because of this prescription. I believe physicians are under close scrutiny as to whom they prescribe this medication to. I would be worried that your doctor…
  • It was not working much for me except that it totally STOPPED nighttime food cravings - which was big for me. I lost minimal weight until I got brutally honest in my calorie counting. Last week I went to the doctor and swore I was not overeating and logging calories and had lost 3 lbs in the past 3 months. Before that I…

  • I weigh mine after, I usually log the cooked calorie count as it can differ especially for beef. I buy vacuum packed organic chicken breasts and don't weigh them typically realizing they may be 4 to 6 ounces and just count them as 5 ounces in my total and figure over time it just averages out fine over the week.
  • Welcome, I didn't read all the posts. I hate exercising at the gym for a variety of reasons - once in a class I had to just shout out to an instructor that I was much older than she thought I was as I didn't get to say a word to her beforehand as usually I just ask them not to say anything if I take a break and march…
  • I loved my in person WW experience but I did try five different meetings to find the right one for me. I did lose sixty pounds and for whatever reason found it made me stick to plan to jump on the scale in front of a stranger - accountability. The entire time I was a member I was a member of spark people and tracked and…
  • If that is what will work for you - go ahead and do it. I have these great fold flat silicone cups that I use for foods so I fill up a quarter cup, 1/2 cup serving etc so if I'm having popcorn etc I know exactly that I am not cheating. They were from weight watchers. Eyeballing food on a daily basis can cause you never to…
  • You look wonderful and congratulations for sticking to it to get to a healthier you. Bet you really enjoy clothes shopping now.
  • I feel fatter now than before I started loosing weight and I think it is because I was just unaware and clueless how heavy I really was. I am trying to celebrate my success but it is hard to ignore that I am not where I want to be so I can relate to your feelings. You really have had a lot of success and are about halfway…
  • There is a huge range in what is considered a healthy weight - it is 20 lbs or more, some prefer the top of the range, some the bottom. My suggestion is to go by what makes you feel the best and to check with a BMI calculator and some weight range charts to make sure your goal is realistic. If you are off, get some advice…
  • I eat 1200 calories PLUS my exercise calories, so average 1300 - 1600 a day including whatever exercise I do. My current weight loss is very slow and I have been increasing my activity, I'm about half way to my goal and am still in the obese overweight range but moved out of the obese range which was a real milestone for…
  • Self awareness and realize you still are an emotional being and will backslide once in a while. If you slip just go back to the good habits you know work for you. Maybe read some books on the topic and find something that speaks to you. Every time I see an overweight person I wonder what void they are using food to fill.…
  • I use string cheese - specifically the Weight Watchers Jalepeno string cheese - it is 50 calories. If I am hungry I will add a few grapes or really any fruit in moderation. I also use the quaker popped snacks for a chip craving as they come in prepackaged bags for less than 90 calories and have chip flavors like bbq,…
  • Just smile say thank you, that is interesting, glad that works for you or the like. Then just think what you really want to say. Save your breath beyond that as there is no reasoning with idiotic beliefs unless you actually want to spend your time discussing it. I still have a ways to go, but also have seem a lot of…
  • If you have a smart phone I HIGHLY recommend you download runkeeper ap. It is free and you input your weight, etc and you can use it to calculate your calories, pace, distance and even gps your location. It is the most motivating thing I do as I keep mine set to announce to me every 5 minutes my pace and distance so I use…
  • I had the Asics Gel Cumulus recommended to me for the cushioning after trying on some Nikes that were not comfortable. I bought the previous model 14 as the new model was coming into the store 15 but it was more money than I usually spend on shoes. They are comfortable and I am pleased with the purchase and think they were…
  • Bravo to you for encouraging others by posting your photos. I went through a transformation several years ago and always posted progress photos and then the before and after and it was quite motivating to me. I slipped into old habits of stress eating and started skipping workouts and of course the weight came back on.…
  • Definitely a backhanded compliment - they just can't say "YOU LOOK GREAT!" You know you probably do look great as you are but you want to look better for you. Go for it and just smile. I think when you change in a positive way and others are stuck in their old habits - like they are overweight - they feel defensive and…
  • A lot of people weigh and measure their food, some foods you really have to weigh to get an accurate accounting. I have been able to find foods listed both ways in the database. Also some bags of tortilla chips etc will list how many chips make out a serving and the corresponding weight.
  • Congratulations on your success - you look great!
  • Hi, there is no magic in Weight Watchers if you already have the knowledge. I hit a plateau last year and could only lose 15 lbs on my own and then gained it back over the holidays. Mid January I joined weight watchers and have been going to weekly meetings and using the etools. I have lost 35 pounds and am going for…
