  • My son goes to school with a bunch of kids from the same family named Rain, Storm, and River. I went to school with a guy named Travis Traves (pronounced Travis). Also went to school with a girl named Crystal Chanda Lier. Why do parents hate their kids so much??
  • Haha! I didn't say they were pretty! It's funny you say that because I kept looking at the book and looking at the bench thinking, "How am I going to pull this off?". Thank goodness for long legs, I guess. I stood as close to then end as I could, and then SLOWLY stepped back as far as I could go to do the squat. To…

  • Did S2B1 last night. I am starting to think that this program was made for graceful people...lol! Did the HIIT on the elliptical and had to modify the deadlift. Figured that doing the deadlift on the bench probaby wasn't safe. Also the reverse squat was a little difficult on the bench. I'm sure I looked pretty funny! I…

  • I sometimes eat the Luna Protein Bars to get some extra protein between breakfast and lunch. Very filling and has 12 grams of protein!! They also tend to be less caloric than the Cliff bars. Depending on which flavor, they are usually around 180-190 calories per bar.
  • Well, crap. There went my lunch for today..lol! :grumble: Seriously, thanks for the info. You might have just kept me from getting sick. :flowerforyou:
  • ^^ This and stretching worked for me!
  • *Applause* :drinker:
  • Just started Stage 2 last night. Holy Shnikies my arms are so sore!! I felt really awkward doing the squat (and feel pretty sure I looked awkward too), but hopefully as my form gets better it will get easier. I added weight, which was really stupid. I should have just used the bar. :blushing: Step-ups again? Really?…

  • That is quite disgusting... :frown:  ETA: That has never happend to me, but I would think that would be the only thing that would bother me about the treadmill. The weight room is a whole other issue....
  • Mine are quality time and physical touch. My husband is words of affirmation. I love this series and would suggest any couple to read it together.
  • Ugh...happens too fast! :ohwell:
  • Not my son, but my brother. He is 11 years younger than me and when he was 11 he was taller than me. Now that he is in his 20's he is WAY taller than me...lol! He is 6'8". My 11 year-old son is about a foot shorter than me, but is growing fast! By next year I expect he will be taller. My best friend's daughter is the same…
  • This is EXACTLY what happened to me. I got about 25# from goal and stopped. I have been fighting it for almost 6 months. I changed to the TDEE- 20% a few weeks ago and still have not lost, but I am feeling better. I will admit that I am still adjusting to it and need to focus on my macros more, so that may make a…
  • Right there with ya, Chickie! I was set at 1200 calories and was eating my exercise calories, so I grossed around 1400 a day. It worked great (note ticker below) until around October when I plateaued. I am still in that same plateau. I am trying the TDEE - 20% to see if it works. So far, I will say that I am not as tired,…
  • Of course!! My doggy is my "furry child". She listens better than my human children..lol!
  • Hahaha! I hate to say it, but it's true!!! To the OP: You will know when love finds you. It's just easy. You are considerate of each other. You are comfortable around each other (note quote above..lol). Love shouldn't be hard, even when life is hard.
  • My go-to places when I'm too busy to cook are Panera, Subway, or Chick Fil A. I don't eat out a lot, but with a full time job, school, and husband on midnights, and 2 very active kids it unavoidable at times. All places are high in sodium, but the calorie counts are reasonable. Panera: Either a 1/2 Fuji Apple Chicken Salad…
  • I am an HR professional, and this is not true. Obesity is not a protected class. This is why we are starting to see employers factor weight into the cost of benefits. I'm not saying it will never happen, but for right now this is not legally considered discrimination.
  • As others have said, don't worry about speed right now. Speed comes with time. Also, if you keep doing C25K, don't feel like you HAVE to complete it in the 8-9 (depending on program) weeks. I stayed on week 4 for probably 2-3 weeks before moving up. Last - Sign up for a race!!! A Zombie Run or Color Run are awesome choices…
  • Hit my last goal for Stage 1 and hit 105# on my deadlift!! Woohoo!!! One my day left and I move on to Stage 2!! :drinker: Happy lifting, Ladies!!
  • Hey, Daisy! I have the same issue with my lunges. My issue is that I have very weak wrists and carpel tunnel in my left. I've only been able to get to #25 in each hand, and by my last rep my left wrist and forearm are shaking. Using my gloves has helped keep my grip.
  • First of all...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! :drinker: Second: Your goals are awesome! Third: I am on the last week of Stage 1. My advice is to have no fear of the weight room. You have just as much right to be there as the boys do...and you never know....you may just out-lift them by the time you're done! For the first couple…
  • All that matters is you are moving, sweating, and enjoying your exercise. When I first started out I was just doing the Wii Fit. As I lost more weight I could do more. I think what you're doing is fine for now. Just keep it up! :) Good Luck!
  • That is so great!! Way to go!! It will be nice to have someone to move on with. I'm hearing some horror stories..lol!
  • Ended week five with a 105# squat!! My goal was to hit 100# by the end of stage one. Still haven't hit my goal of at least 100# deadlift, but I got one week left!! Looking ahead to stage 2....a little worried. :noway:  Everyone have a great week!
  • Finished up Stage 1 Week 5 Saturday and finally hit 105# on my squat! I was so proud, and got a nod of respect from one of the guys working out. Still hoping to hit at least 100# on my deadlift before I finish stage one this week.
  • I have the e-book, and I wish I had the paper version. It is very difficult to find your spreadsheet then find your exercise. Once you get them down you won't need to take the book with you, but it really helps every time you move to a new stage. ETA: That is not a silly question at all!
  • Woo hoo!!!
  • I think this is why they seem like such torture to me. My only option is to use the bench. By the time I'm finished, my legs are in pain and my heart is pounding! LOL!
