  • Thanks Baconslave, that makes sense. I presumed if I ate enough fat to stop the hunger then it would bepointless eating more as that would only slow down my weight loss as I would be using the fat I eat rather than my excess body fat.
  • Thanks guys, some great tips. Just been out and bought lots of low carb items
  • I am not on it at the moment, just preparing myself to go back on it. The last time I was on it, which was over a year ago, I started to get bored with it but I think was not eating enough variety of low carb foods. So, I thought having a better idea of variety would be good. I remember not being so hungry last time. Just…
  • Thanks, I was not sure about bacon, I am sure I read somewhere last time I was on low carb that bacon was not good as it had sugars in it. Good to know it is good. And, deli type meats.
  • I noticed peanuts have a lot of fat and calories, are these good to eat to top fat and calories?
  • Thanks, I eat a lot of chicken and also make sure I eat the skin. I like apple and cheese so that will be easy to do, I like bananas too but a bit high in carbs ;-(. I like peanut butter too, but worried I eat too much of the stuff. BTW, just started my food diary again today, and it looks like I am eating too few a…
  • Thanks, that is great help.
  • Thanks. I have been on low carb for about 1 year, been successful with it, but never really measured my macros. I think would be eating around 100g carb per day but since I lost 22kg, I have stalled weight loss for around 3 mths so will look to cut back a bit on carbs. Maybe I should aim for around 80g carbs at first? I am…
  • So, best fats are? Butter, Lard, bacon fat, olive oil??
  • Thanks guys for the advice. What about vegetable oils? These no good to fry with? I never really thought about not eating enough, I am rarely hungry though since I switched to low carb eating. I do not think I am eating too much but maybe I am not eating enough, I will try logging my food over the next few weeks to see if…
  • I started MFP thinking counting calories would help me lose weight but after a while got bored with it and found it too much hassle weighing foods. I then started reading about Akins and other low carb diets. Again, I could not stick them for more than a few days so I think tweaked the diets to a low carb lifestyle, and I…
  • One of my family members is always on a diet and suffers from depression, is wellbutrin a good option for her? What is the recommended dosage to start with? And, is it best taken in the morning or evening?
  • I used to have similar problems especially with feet and ankles, then I cut down on all carbs, refined sugars, processed foods etc, basically nearly all carbs apart from veggies that grow above ground. Within a week all water retention was gone, quite amazing and no problems since. Not sure if it will work for you, but I…
  • Just an update, been on my low carb lifestyle for just over 4 months now, lost 34lbs (just under 16kg). This lifestyle really works for me, find it pretty easy. I tried the counting calories and weighing foods but just did not work for me. I found low carb lifestyle is much easier, stops my previous sugar cravings which…
  • I have been on a low carb lifestyle (not diet) for 8 weeks, and I am losing an average of a kilo per week. Never feel hungry unlike other lifestyles of eating which I have tried. Also, never been bored with it and do not miss most foods I used to eat. I tried weighing foods and recording all my foods on MFP in the past but…
  • I was actually just at the doctors a few weeks ago for another issue, which has now gone. They did a check of blood pressure and said my blood pressure is fine. My dizzy spells started just after my visit. It could definitely be dehydration, I really struggle drinking water. I cut down to coffee for a while to try to get…
  • Well, patience is the key by the looks of it. Lost 2lbs this week after 6 weeks of no movement on the scales. Hopefully, I have a good run of losing for the next few months ; -)
  • Thanks guys for the tips, I will try a few of them especially the accurate weighing of foods.
  • My Tdee is 3100 calories and I am eating around 2200 most days.
  • I tried upping the calories about 4-5 weeks ago, I only did it for 3-4 days. I thought you upped them for a few days then dropped back again to lose weight? Maybe I did it wrong. Is it possible it could be something I am eating rather than just the calories? I know I added bread back into my diet after been without it for…
  • I was always the biggest kid in the class at school, I suppose from a young age I had bad habits of over eating. Mind you, we always had fresh vegetables and fresh meats as kid. The fast food crap did not come along until my 20's along with alcohol, late nights, kebabs, curries, pizzas, hangovers, smoking, waking up in…
  • I got bored reading it half way through, it is the same old story, someone else's theory about losing weight. If I quit every time I did not see positive results in something I tried to achieve then I would be sad poor man. If one way does not work, then you simply get off your backside and try another. WILL POWER and…
  • You are best to open your food diary for people to view, it is great way to get help and tips from others.
  • I have sent you a message, you can add me.
  • It is great if you are combining calorie intake and exercise at the same time. However, I see a lot of people on here go all out with cutting calories and lots of exercise but then struggle to keep it up. When decided to change my lifestyle habits to healthier ones, I found it is easier to do it in stages otherwise I would…
  • I live in Cambodia and they use sweet potatoes in curries. really tasty. You can probably find a recipe if you Google "Khmer Style Curry".
  • I eat more than 2000 calories and lose weight but I started at 320 lbs.
  • I always wake up lighter than the night before, in fact normally 1 kg lighter than when I went to bed so I would imagine you could probably get away with eating quite a bit and you still would be lighter than the night before, albeit not much lighter.
  • I can not see the point in fasting. Once you start to eat as normal then any weight you lost would just come back?
