Me personally? Nah.... at my age (64) I just tuck 'em in my waistband and move on. (Comes with age, hon.) Godonly knows what these 42G will look like at goal. But if you're young, can afford it, and want it... go for it.

Thanks! I didn't want to spend the money only to discover thar I can't do it.

Sounds like your strap is too loose. It should be so tight as to be *almost* uncomfortable.

My gym requires ALL employees to be CPR/AED certified. It's a local chain of 10 gyms, 5, 000 employees. Every location has an AED.

Congratulations on taking the first step! Best wishes for success.

I honestly don't give a rat's hiney about the scale.... I want body fat under 25%. I want to RUN a 5k, and do a tough mudder. That's it.

Yay you! You were beautiful before, and now.... I am envous!

What's your definition for "cheap?" I bought a scale at Walmart that measures weight, body fat%, and hydration level. I paid $35 for it brand new. It will also store weight for multiple users if you wish. The brand is Health-o-meter, which has been around a long time. They ALL do that difference thing. It depends on where…

You're misunderstanding what BMR is. BMR has absolutely NOTHING to do with how much you move around. Think of it in terms of "what you burn in your sleep." BMR depends on your WEIGHT, AGE, and lean body mass. Repeat, it has nothing to do with how much you do during the day.

Dangit! Can't figure out the quote thing. Anyhow.... I have been on both sides of th ED scale (pun NOT intended). At 18, I weighed 278 lbs, which even at 5'6" is waaaaay too much. So I did the severe calorie restriction thing (1000 cal/day, NOT medically supervised), coupled with riding my bike everywhere AND an hour of…

At the risk of being "edited" by MFP.... what an a$$hat this guy was. I don't think you should punch him in the face, though. Aim for the throat instead. ;-D

There's a man at my gym (not one of my clients) who is 95, swims a mile every day, still lives independently, still drives. I wanna be like him!

My clients with fibro find that pool workouts help.

I looked at your food diary. 350 calories over 100 calories over 540 calories over 280 over Now ask yourself that question again.

Have you talked to a doctor about depression? You sound as if you might be mildly depressed.

Can't do without my foam roller. I suffer from a righteous case of "runner's butt" (a.k.a. piriformis syndrome) and without rollering, just walking is hard.

I know you said you don't like to eat before a run, but I'd suggest a very quick, LIGHT snack of "peanut butter spoon" before your run. You want a slow-releasing carb and protein combo.

I had the old one, upgraded a few years ago to FT80. Itall depends on what you want. The FT80 is sufficient for my needs... at least until I beat it totally into the ground as I did my old one. (As in, watch crystal was so scratched you couldn't read it any more.)

Buy yourself a Zumba DVD. Zumba rocks! And it doesn't feel like exercise. ?. Just dancing.

I think a very large part of it is that women are afraid that they will be judged as somehow "imperfect" --- too fat, too thin, to muscular, too this, not enough that.... ironically, because THEY ARE SO HARSHLY JUDGMENTAL of others. (Come on now, tell the truth to yourself, you KNOW you've got that little voice in your…

My goal is 60 seconds on the prone plank, 30 seconds on a side plank.

Hi, if you add calories gradually, and keep your exercise routine, you probably won't regain. Personally I'd recommend adding 100 calories a day the first week, another 100 the second week, and so on until you get to what is a normal intake. Do you know what's "normal" for your age/goal weight?
