Ok, here's the thing.... I want to try P90X, but... I'm 64 years old. No chronic health problems. I do currently work out regularly (weight training 3x a week with a personal trainer, plus cardio on my own).
Any "older" folks 50+ on here who have tried / are doing / have finished P90X or Insanity?
Whatta ya think, can a fat ole broad do it?

If you can weight train 3xs a week and can do basic stuff like jumping jacks, sit-ups, crunches, etc than I don't see why not. I have done the program and it is certainly 'easier' than Insanity. That's not to say that P90X is easy. These are relative! P90X will still give you a run for your $! I say it is easier because it works you by increasing your fitness gradually... Insanity is truly Insane.
In Insanity, you are at max output from the word go... your breaks are fewer and farther between; I would recommend starting with P90X unless you are comfortable with running several miles at a really good pace. Your heart-rate will stay high for Insanity!
Both programs are excellent and come with a 30-day money back guarantee; if you find P90X too difficult or too easy, then you can always contact your coach and have him/her help you exchange it.
Let me know if I can help you further - feel free to add me!0 -
Thanks! I didn't want to spend the money only to discover thar I can't do it.0

I'm 60 and I do P90X. If you are in good shape and don't push yourself trying to exercise at the same level as the people on the DVDs, you'll be fine. Personally, I skip Plyometrics and do the CardioX instead because I don't feel my old knees can take the beating. As Tony Horton says repeatedly, "Do your best and forget the rest". It's not about trying to be like Tony or anyone else, it's all about you doing your best.0
