  • I have hypothyroidism and I take synthroid for it everyday in the morning before I eat. I've never heard anything about needing to avoid certain foods though. Hypothyroidism is a condition where your thyroid stops working and the medication steps in where the thyroid would normally be working. I don't believe that has…

  • You can totally see the difference! Look how many wrinkles are in the shirt in the second picture, that's because it's not being stretched out as much!! You're doing a great job!
  • I almost always eat up my burned calories, but I am just maintaining now for the most part... only trying to lose the last 5-10 lbs now... I think it works best if you switch it up and confuse your body... like eat 1200 calories one day, when you're not so hungry, but on the days you are hungry, eat more... I notice that…
  • amazing! isn't that the best feeling in the world!? you look great!
  • Hi! I'll add you as a friend, I'm always looking for great people to support me and to help support others!
  • aw too bad, good luck on your new place though! are you excited to move?
  • You look great! Congrats!!
  • I have the same problem! Whenever I twist or punch from the side or dance, I get this bad wheezing and I have to stop. But most other activities don't bother me in the same way. I was diagnosed with asthma when I was younger but I don't use an inhaler. do you have asthma?
  • I chew on gum or drink tea
  • I'm 5'2" 1/2" :) about 125 lbs right now. I would like to be around 115, but I find it hard to stay below 120
  • I've found the most durable and comfortable shoes to be New Balances, but I haven't tried any other brands in a few years.
  • Beginning of 2003 I realized how unhappy I was and how I had gained a ton of weight while with my now ex-fiance. I was 5' 2 1/2" and 180 lbs. I wasn't working, lived somewhere I didn't have any friends, and was just generally housebound because I didn't like the way I looked. I was uncomfortable with who I had become. So I…
  • it is frustrating! I'm 5' 2 1/2" and I'm constantly feeling uncertain about my weight, even when I just go up one lb! It's hard knowing that simply gaining 3-4 lbs and nothing fits right, while I hear other people that can gain/lose 10-20 lbs and only then do they have to get new clothing. I know complaining about it isn't…
  • bananas work good along with lots of water and exercise
  • I have a cheap plastic pasta thing that has holes in it, it works only for spaghetti and angel hair though. I grab a bunch, slip it through one of the holes and it'll tell me how many servings it is. Does anyone know the name of the thing I own?
  • I have knee problems and I've also had trouble with the elliptical. I used to own one but had to sell it because it bothered my knee so much. I think the problem for me was the two platforms where your feet go were too wide apart for my frame, so my legs/knees were more apart than were comfortable.
  • Thanks Becca, I looked at all the old forum postings about posting pictures and mine looks correct to me and I keep fiddling with it and it's still not working. So if you guys click on my "name" then you can see the pictures? I did put them onto this site too. Hey Tiffany, I've found that using this site is really helping…
  • dang, I can't get the pictures to come through, can anyone help me?
  • I have a stationary bike and have used it for a few years now. When I'm done riding, I do pushups, crunches, that sort of thing, and it seems to keep my upper body in shape also.
  • Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches!!
  • Congrats!! That's amazing! You're doing an awesome job!
  • I just make sure I don't have anything in our house during that time that could get me into trouble... it's easier to avoid if I'm not around it at all! And if I'm really really craving something, then I have to get into my car and go get it, and sometimes the going through all that trouble makes the craving go away :)
  • I also get acid reflux from oranges and orange juice because of the acid content. I find it best to eat them during the day. If I drink/eat oranges in the morning or at night, my acid reflux tends to be worse. Also, like schnicklefritz1 said, I would eat something else first, and then the orange.
  • That's awesome! You're doing great!!
  • Hi! Welcome, I'm new too. I love this site and hope it helps you a lot too!

  • I brush my teeth after eating dinner, that way I have to really think about whether or not I want to eat something else. Sometimes if I'm really hungry I give in, but most of the time it works and stops me from eating more than I need.
  • I've always heard that if you're sick from the neck up (sinus infection, sore throat, etc) then it's ok to exercise as long as you feel up to it, but anything with the neck down, to just take it easy and not stress out over not being able to exercise. I'm a big fan of saltines during those nasty times! I hope you feel…
  • Are you tired? I always get colder when I'm tired. And I get cold in my house when it's 72 degrees too, especially if I'm not moving around. Have you tried some hot tea? Doesn't have any calories, and it always warms me inside out.
  • Thanks everyone! I'm super excited to be here!
