  • My first fight gone bad! 251 reps on a very "off" morning (when I do an evening WOD turned around to a morning, it's never pretty). Given my notoriously horrendous engine, I will TAKE it! :)
  • Got my first bar muscle up last week. :)
  • Man doesn't matter what I do to prevent them, I get them all the time on high volume stuff. Particularly v-ups.
  • I have friends who get this way about "shaving" reps. One in particular will get red-faced angry about it when she recalls the wods. I think some people just are that way--they take it very seriously and would never think of doing it themselves and thus attribute the worst intentions to others who do it, instead of, like…
  • We did an every 90sec complex of two power shrugs, a hang squat clean and a jerk. I hit 125. Cleans felt great--could have gone way heavier. Jerks have been off lately--that's pretty much my push press PR...oh well. Wod was 7min AMRAP of 5 power cleans at 75% and 7 burpee box jumps. Got 4+8. Not a great day. Lol but I…
  • Favs: 1. Snatches/OHS 2. Hspu 3. Chest to bar pull-ups Least favs: 1. Running 2. Airdyne 3. Rope climbs (always have horrible rope burn--and I wear a rock guard shin sleeve and two pairs of high socks) In sum: I like the oly lifts and gymnastics stuff, hate cardio, and am okay with the powerlifts.
  • Finally hit my 100# snatch on Friday. :) :) I posted a link to the video if you want to see. Because--AWESOME. hehe https://facebook.com/bethlivi/videos/10107256185857191/?l=3599225335668708032
  • Today was an EOMOM complex of 1 clean pull, 1 high-hang squat clean and 1 hang squat clean, ascending in weight. I hit 125 and failed the 130 high hang. My back is still irritated, so I'm blaming that. haha The WOD was a 9min AMRAP of 5 squat cleans (155/105), 10 burpees, and 15 box jumps. I did Rx and hit 3 rounds even.…
  • I have to get 7-9 hours per night, and really needs to be at least 8. This is sometimes hard with a 3.5yo, highly spirited daughter, but I am pretty adamant about it. I get migraines if I get dehydrated or too tired, so it keeps me motivated to put the book down and go to bed. :-) I do Eat to Perform and count my macros. I…
  • It's not the first event. I think it's the first one on Thursday or Friday.
  • Today: 7m amrap 5 front squat (rx is 225/135--I did 95 bc of a hurt back) 10 bar over burpees I completed 4+6.
  • EMOM style: 40s work, 20s rest each minute 0-Row for calories 1-Box jumps 2-V ups (For 18 minutes) I rowed better than I ever have today. Found my groove finally! But I got floor burns from the V ups and suffered through them. Lol
  • Ours is the same. 1-2 week Foundations course to teach technique, philosophy, and get people "ramped up" for actual classes. To be honest, we rarely do any WODs longer than 12 minutes (maybe once/week), and I have seen dramatic differences in my abilities, strength and fitness from doing this, 3-4x a week and nothing else.…
  • I injured my back during Nutts on Saturday (on the 7th deadlift not 2 minutes into the workout) which made everything else so much harder. I would have finished 5min faster if I hadn't hurt myself....but really I should have just stopped. Anyhow, today's workout: Amanda: 9-7-5 Squat snatches (95/135) Muscle ups I did 35#…
  • Not lame at all!! I remember the first time I did push-ups, and doing a half- murph this past Memorial Day with "real" push-ups was my biggest accomplishment. Push-ups and pull-ups are friggin hard! Nice job!
  • Finished at 34:40.
  • Wooo, that one looks TOUGH. This morning, we're doing "Nutts". I'll be doing it Rx...so...I'm guessing it will take me about 40 minutes? If I finished in under 35, I would strut around like a peacock for the rest of the day. The first three exercises won't be too bad. But those wall-balls and pullups. eek. Then I can…
  • Thanks. I'm not a normally very anxious person--I'm pretty much a bundle of energy and enthusiasm and happiness all day lol--but this is taking me out of my element. Big time. So I needs to eat all the cookies. Hehe
  • Yes good luck on the pull-ups!! We've been doing a lot of hollow/arch work too. :-)
  • I'm cycling off of cutting for awhile. I've been hungrier and I'm going through a stressful time at work, so I just don't have it in me to do any cutting on non workout days. So I'll maintenance eat for the next couple of months and then after my tenure packet is submitted, I'll cut for another month or two. :-)
  • :( sorry to hear about the rough day! I know how you feel though. I try to think of it as a long journey of undulating motion--sometimes spiking up and sometimes down but always trending upwards. It helps me to think that even on off days I'm building strength and stamina. One of my coaches always reminds me: what are you…
  • Yeah! Nice job!!!
  • Did Fran today for the third time ever. Completed in 8:45 (yay!) after we did heavy front squat sets...and I'm coming off a cold (before the set of 9 I thought I might have strip my shirt off and blow my nose in my shirt lol). I'll take it. :)
  • Also--I'm totally not paleo, and ETP really isn't paleo either (though he's not really *anti* paleo per se). I get most of my protein from dairy, I'd say...and I eat bread and lucky charms and my occasional cookies and ice cream. But if you are low carb, you should transition to the ETP way slowly--too quick of adding…
  • I have not really lost any scale weight, but 4% body fat (from almost 23% to just under 19%). I've also gained approximately 2-3lbs of skeletal muscle mass. (also PRed my deadlift, snatch, C&J, Fran time, etc.) I adore food, so I couldn't do with something that forced me into veggies all day long (sorry not sorry). I tried…
  • whoowee, KellyAnn. lol Ours today: Strength: 10m to hang snatch double Conditioning: For time- 800m run -Then 2 rds- 30 alternating pistols 20 hang power snatch 10 muscle ups (2:1 CTB, pu, rr) -Then- 100 double unders
  • Agreed kellyann!!! Our coaches often will prescribe a ridiculously high weight just to prove us that point--that everything is a scale of something else. Pike push-ups scale for hspu. Hspu scale for strict hspu. Strict hspu scale for either deficit hspu or freestanding hspu, etc. they're really keen on making us see our…
  • It doesn't matter how shaved I keep my calluses...I rip when it's humid or with really high volume. Just did 75 kipping pull-ups Friday and ripped toward the end--tired, humid, etc. Gloves don't work for me because my hands are too small (completely tiny) and I can't grip the bar at all. But thin grips work sometimes.
  • I have no hope, haha...I have spend inordinate amounts of money (oops--sorry honey) on grips and still, I rip. But I have very tiny hands (ridiculously tiny) so anything that puts space between the bar and my hands is a no go (because I will fall off). I've had some luck with natural grips since they're essentially tape.…
  • Awesome congrats!!!
