  • Way to go!!!
  • I use a straw my doctor never told me not to chew gum but I am not a gum chewer. I remember at my last dr visit I had a cup with a straw and literally all 5 patients in the office were scolding me about the straw when the dr stepped out they asked him and he said if you want to use a straw use one. I drank from a straw…
  • Awesome! Thank you for sharing and for not sugar coating it. My general response from strangers is you took the easy way out. If you call taking out 85% of your stomach working out and changing your whole life. It undermines that what we have lost we worked for. I wish I would have worked harder but am trying now to lose…
  • My doc was not okay either. I gave up diet coke and will not go back. Funny different carbonation is well different I can drink sparkling water which I did ask the doc about and he said from time to time okay but not to make it a habit. I also asked him if it stretches the stomach he said no you burp the bubbles out.

Just a few things. 1) for me plan water, black coffee chicken and steak were a struggle. I was afraid I would never be able to drink plain water…

  • I too have lots of hair they always grumble and want me to get it thinned. It did come out in handfuls and when I went to the hairdresser they were suprised but no there were no bald spots and other then shedding hair like a cat and my hair being everywhere it was nothing to stress over. I decided not to take anything cuz…
  • It all grew back:)
  • I had heard it is not avoidable even most people who took supplements still lost some hair. Never heard of anyone going bald on the bright side. :) I lost some hair from month 6 to month 12 or so although a lot of hair fell out it was fine.
  • Good luck to all of you. Just a few thoughts/ advice 1) I took 2 weeks off the biggest thing like others say is your tired the other is trying to adjust in the beginning only fluids it is challenging. It can be done I know someone who is a nurse she took the weekend off and went right back to work. If you can take the time…

Glad I did as I had such bad headaches I stayed off it for 6 months only drank decaf I am glad I did because I had such a hard time getting fluids in. I love my coffee though when I work am I also put in a cup of coffee with…

  • I was very honest at work I needed the time off and I knew they would see that I ate differently and wanted the support. I didn't tell everyone but the people around me all knew and have been so supportive. My family all knows. I didn't post it on my Facebook or anything but I am pretty open. I generally tell people I have…
  • I am a year and 5 months out. Let me know if you have any questions always looking for new friends am about 12 pounds from goal but want to lose more. • I had a problem with them and was told it could be one of two things one is dehydration and the other is lack of salt. Esp in the early stages if you are getting enough fluids try to add a poweraide zero or two daily it has the salt your body needs. You can do vitamin water zero or poweraide I was also told you can take a…
  • You got this! I remember I felt like backing out but so glad I did it!
  • When your very low carb low cal and need sodium my dr told me drink a sports drink. I would vitamin water zero or poweraide zero just one a day. It really helped I was also told if I felt I needed salt (leg. Cramps are a good sign) put a teaspoon of light salt in a cup and drink. I had to do this the first month or so

  • Get in the habit now bring your lunch and snacks every day. In the beginning I always brought protein shakes I like some of the medi weight loss products. I had learned a lot about low carb from them in Orlando and if I didn't move believe I could have lost my weight in the medi plan. They have some pre made shakes just…
  • My goal is to stop before feeling 100% full I learned early on that with this procedure just one bite could put me past the point of being full. I watch my portion sizes eat small bites chew chew chew and my goal is to stop at 80% full. I have gotten pretty good at it. Snacks is what I have to watch so I again use portion…
  • What plan does your dr have you on? You should at this stage be logging everything in the beginning they had me on 500-600 calories I was on liquids several weeks ate protein soup and protein drinks sometimes I could not get past a few sips. It is normal not to be hungry that is part of the process but you should be…
  • It will get better. I always say that after any surgery I don't feel 100 percent myself for about a year. I took off about 3 weeks but had to back to work full speed long days 10 to 12 hours I was so tired and in the beginning eating very little I was at 500 calories or less for a while. Make sure to drink fluids and if…
  • What Greek yogurt did she say?
  • Thank you so much your post was awesome! I find the shakes hel me stay on track when I am working! Snacking has edged it's way in. I have been logging and already dropped 3 I just don't want to give up when I am so close a little of this and that ends up a lot of nothing. Definately need to get back on the protein first…

Have been looking into the fitbit which one do you have I think there are a few, I have not got tone use to the journaling on my fitness pal in the beginning I logged everything the old fashion way. Do you all still count carbs? I do know I need to get back to the basics. I do still…
  • I also use the nectar brand Vanilla is my favorite as it is easy to change the flavor. For a long time I only drank it with water but now use almond milk good luck!
