I altered my MFP base calorie amount to mach my BMR. That put MFP calories pretty close to my FitBit calories. But Fitbit calculates exercise calories just a little differently than MFP............so when it comes to eating a certain amount difference between burned and consumed calories, I stick with what Fitbit tells me.

I've just recently bought Siggi yogurt for the first time and I have officially turned to it now. It is wonderful, and much lower in sugar than many of the other brands I was considering. No sucralose, no aspartame... I personally prefer the whole milk option, but they have a 2% option too. My favorite flavor is the…

This. Most definitely. Google high fiber foods for some options, but try to implement a few more in your day. And plenty of water all day long is very important as well. And for a little assistance, a cup or two of coffee throughout the day is helpful.

I trust the starbucks website for their nutrition facts, and I don't worry too much about minor 'errors' here or there. I figure it all balances in the end. I usually prefer a Misto or a Flat White. Though I'm curious about that new Cherry Blossom Frap...

Intentional eating is about being aware of everything you eat and the amount you take in. For example, taking some chips out of a bag, measuring it out by either a scale, or just by sight, then eating it would be more "intentional eating" as opposed to say just eating straight out of the chip bag until suddenly you look…

I have not heard of Slimming World, but I have tried many food restricting ideas - low/no carb, no dairy, no sugar, etc. I have successfully lost weight doing them, and then successfully gained weight afterwards. But I'm eating differently now. As of the last week or two, I have not restricted myself from any foods. I am…

I said no to all the sweets in the breakroom! I haven't given up sweets in my diet, but in order to make my choices more purposeful and less impulsive, I told myself I wasn't allowed to have whatever was in the breakroom (which I normally think tastes mediocre but I eat it anyway). Woo! Go me!

JohnBarth = 100% correct. Form your habits one at a time. That is how your life will change.

though it is a little higher in the carbs... 26g for 2oz.

Haha girl you just listed off all of my favorite high-protein foods. Like someone said before, greek yogurt is great. Though you may need to bring something to keep it cool in... Also, if you have an HEB near you, they sell this German Brot Rye bread at the bakery, and it is really tasty. 2 ounces of the bread has 7g…

I would get an inexpensive food scale and try weighing instead of measuring with cups. Do you think anything else you are eating during the day is affecting your weight loss at all, and not just dinner? Are you drinking plenty of water?

I don't know how flexible your eating schedule is, but what I like to do is have a (larger) snack high in protein around 11am, such as greek yogurt with almonds, honey, and raspberries. Then I am usually hungry for lunch between 12-1pm. I find that the later I eat my lunch, the more satisfied I am with a small snack around…

Feel free to add me :) I am dedicated to logging, as well as to my fitbit.

Wow... I am surprised to find so many of you that feel sick after green tea. I wonder what causes that? Having green tea actually calms my stomach down. And when I'm feeling achy (like at the beginning of a cold), it makes me feel better then too.

I am definitely a stress-eater. I have recently discovered a replacement for all the comforting junk food. When I'm stressed and I want to eat half the candy in my boss's candy bowl, I have a healthy snack instead - but one with higher fat content. For example... I'll have an apple with a nut/seed butter (sunbutter and…

I have never done the Daniel Fast, but it sounds a lot like a vegetarian Whole30. There are a lot of great recipes I have found at the following two websites: This one is good if you have a mandolin or spiralizer. If you don't, it might be able to at least give you some good ideas.…

I'm 5'0". I was at 118 for my wedding a few years ago, and I definitely still had some fluff in the belly area that I could get rid of. I'm currently shooting for 110, and seeing what I look like at that weight. It definitely matters how much you tone, though! At our height, we could weigh 120 and look skinnier than 110…

If you get walnut halves/pieces and salted pumpkin seeds and you bake them on a baking sheet at 375 for 5-10 minutes (watching so they don't burn) something about the taste reminds me of popcorn. I love it!!

I have frequent headaches as well. I don't know if it will be the same case for you, but one thing I did notice was that I always stopped having headaches when I limited or eliminated my sugar intake (and also drank enough water through the day). I hope this Whole30 will help to get rid of those migraines!

I agree. I'm 5'0'', and 1200 works for me.

I'm with you. Whenever someone on tv mentions cake, that's all i can focus on. Also, OP, your name makes me want a kitkat.

Cottage cheese is great and can keep in a hotel fridge. Cans of different beans, if you carry a can opener with you on the road. Definitely the nut butters - This is the good kind of fat! Greek yogurt Nuts and seeds (like almonds, pumpkin and sunflower seeds)

Yes! Check out the book The Sugar Smart Diet by Anne Alexander. There is a lot of great information in there about how sugar affects our bodies and why we crave it so much. And it goes through a plan on slowly eliminating sugar from your diet for a time period to sort of "reset the system". Then it gradually adds certain…

Thanks for saying that! I know just what you mean melodyg about being THAT person. And even if the people around me are supportive about it, I still end up feeling like a bit of a loner. And so thanks to Kalikel because this is what I need to remember!
