That would make sense to me, and would also explain why you need to up your carbs when trying to add LBM: reserving the protein to build/repair muscle instead of having some diverted for energy.

My cubicle neighbor repeatedly clearing her throat. :s

I found that explaining my target in terms of body fat percentage as opposed to a "goal weight" helped them understand something that might otherwise appear excessive.
-
I just started seeing this myself. Did you find an answer @mdboxberger ?

Almonds have an almost ridiculous caloric density. 1 oz (and that's barely a handful, depending on the size of your hand) will be 160 calories.

Form is good, from what I've been told; but deloads are coming for sure. Repeated failures can be a little demoralizing.

Deficit is 500 cals per day, so I usually end up eating somewhere between 1900 and 2000, on average. ATM, I'm 6'1" 209lb. Squat stalled at 210, BP at 125, OP at 85. Deadlift was 250 on Wednesday, so still making progress there. I've got my macros set to 40/30/30 C/P/F. Having trouble with the protein, to be honest. Even…
-
No, I still have a ways to go. After reading everything here, I figure I'll stick with the deficit and I'll just have to accept that my lifting progress will be limited for the foreseeable future. No biggie. Thanks again!
-
Have been; but started stalling hard on a lot of my lifts, and thought I'd change tactics.

Thanks everyone.

2-plate deadlift, check. 2-plate squat by Thanksgiving, with any luck.

I wish someone would shove a jelly doughnut in my face right now.

Could very well be this. I'm the exact opposite. When I've gotten these comments in the last couple months, I've gone on ad nauseum explaining how many calories were in my "small lunch"; how some people really wish I would disappear because they're tired of hearing me talk; and how my body fat % will determine when I'm…

At their highest, I think mine was around 14 or 15. Took about 18 months, but it seems my endo and I have settled on 162.5mcg of levothyroxine daily. Weird dosage, so I have to alternate between 150 and 175.

I ate most of a "toxic" bag of Dole spinach before it was recalled. Depending on my luck, I just might have a "cleanse" in my future.
-
I also did a lousy job of explaining my point. I should've said we don't need complete proteins, like from animal sources, and we can do perfectly fine with incomplete proteins, like most plants, as long as we get the essential amino acid profile in our diet.
-
I'm fairly certain that my inability to properly express myself is leading people who agree with me to argue with me.
-
Quinoa has all of them, no animals involved.
-
Yes, I was saying we don't need dietary protein from animals. I thought the rest of my post put that into context. My apologies.
-
You don't need protein. You need the 9 or 11 amino acids your body lacks to make protein. We don't use animal proteins as they're ingested. We break them down and use the parts.

The walkers in "The Walking Dead" are more like shamblers really. Can't imagine they're moving at more than a couple mph. Those f&#$ers in "28 Days Later" were scary as hell though. Full out sprint, no need to rest.

I'll seventh that sentiment. It is seriously the best thing you could ever put on eggs.

No, 70lb of fat. The units on both charts are the same.

Just wait until automated phone trees change their prompts to "Please enter the number and press the hashtag key."

Sounds like "Suck it up, Buttercup!" is the best course of action then. :) Thanks!

Measuring by volume is woefully inaccurate. Weigh all solids, measure liquids. There's a video that gets posted in these threads all the time. I would look for it, but someone will post it soon enough.

I fell asleep chewing once.

I go into so much detail that, after a while, people are sorry they asked. :)

It's entirely possible these same people would then start discussing your weight gain behind your back. "See how much weight she put on?" "Yeah, really let herself go."

But it has nonzero mass. If you're logging based on the dry weight, but eating based on the cooked weight, you're not getting as many calories as you think.
