You're definitely not alone! I'm always nervous to get on the scale. I'm scared that it will show no "progress" in weight loss which is so discouraging.

Absolutely! I am trying to get my body back after 3 kids! I would love to have a fitness buddy!

Hello, hello! I'm 5' 3.75". I started at 135.8 and I'm currently at 128. My goal weight is 115 but I would ideally be at 110 if I'm healthy, lean, and fit.

Keep up the great work!

You look fantastic! Great job!

Wow! Great job ladies! I'm about 5'3.75" so close enough to 5'4" . My progress pictures are in my ticker.

I tried that right before I signed up for MFP (or maybe it was around the same time?!) Anyway, it was ridiculous. Yes, I lost 1 pound but that was probably from eating 300-500 calories a day!! Don't start yourself. Stick to MFP recommends and exercise.

That's incredible! GREAT job!

Welcome!! My initial advice is to jump into threads, find friends to help motivate/support you, and find fitness blogs to encourage you. Those are the things that got me started!

Welcome!! It was very hard for me to start as well. Now I'm two months in my lifestyle change and doing much better with it. What helped me out at first was finding fitness blogs to follow, finding an ipod song list that motivates me to exercise, and finding friends who support me. It's tough but if you hang in there it…

It depends on your gender, body type, body weight, etc. Usually the last 10 pounds getting down into the lower end of the healthy BMI is when it really gets hard.

Welcome! I did WW for a time too and I've now gravitated to MFP as well. I like MFP much better. Good luck!

Welcome!! I'm a mom of 3 crazy kids and I'm trying to get baby weight off as well. It's tough but I'm making progress. I don't know about tips. I'm making the choice to change my lifestyle to include many more fruits, veggies, lean meats, and cutting out the horrible greasy fast food that I used to love. I'm also adding in…

Welcome!! I'm also trying to lose weight from babies and I have hypothyroid. It's been a nightmare trying to get anything back off but I'm making progress. I love motivation so feel free to add me! Btw, LOVE your profile picture. Gorgeous! :flowerforyou:

Welcome!! If you're already doing a triathalon you're far ahead of me, lol! Keep up the great work

Welcome!! It's never too late to start again! :flowerforyou:

Great job on your weight loss! Keep up the great work! I love having supportive friends on here. Other sites people just don't seem to understand why you're so excited when you drop a pound or burn off some calories exercising.

Yes! I wasn't sure about starting a blog but now I love it! I love being able to vent and keep a record of my days. Feel free to follow. I added/bookmarked everyone else. I love motivation! :flowerforyou: http://missionhealthymomma.tumblr.com/

Amen!! These changes have to be a permanent lifestyle change. Under 1,200 calories or obsessively eating junk food is not a healthy or sustainable "change".
-
Yes, theoretically you will lose weight. MFP sets you up with a "deficit" in calories. This means that the goal they give you is a max of 500 calories lower than you would need to sustain your current weight (or around there). If you exercise too it means that you're burning off calories in addition to your goal "deficit".

I don't have a drastic amount of weight to lose but I did look like a blob in my mid section, thighs, and butt area. My first clue was seeing the beautiful lines that separated my stomach the my sides and ribs. I didn't think I was losing or making much progress until I kept seeing my stomach getting more pronounced.

That's amazing! GREAT job!!

I definitely recommend taking pictures. I was stuck in a rut a few weeks ago and frustrated when the scale wasn't budging. For the heck of it I compared some of my pre-weight loss pictures to some new ones I took that morning. I didn't really think I had changed THAT much. Those two pictures are side-by-side in my ticker.…

I saw you on another post and requested. I would love to! We're the same height with the same goal.

I just finished my Masters of counseling last year after seven crazy years of college! Sooo glad to be done, but school work and kids always won out over nutrition and exercise. This is why I'm here trying to lose 21 pounds...
