just an update on my test, 3 years ago I scored a poor 38 this time round following advice on here I achieved 51 V02 max thanks guys for your help and advice MFP works :happy:

Im in the fire station tonight and just about to embark on a 10k run on the treadmill. heres hoping it stays quiet.. fat doesnt take a day off so neither am I merry xmas

its actually a walking/jogging test with a 3 % incline increase every 2 minutes. thanks for the advice

Hi Allan thanks for that can you explain HIT sessions please ? my daily training consists of:- 1. 3 0r 5 mile run, 2. 0.5 or 1 mile swim 3. light weights thanks again for the reply

I have found the warm up & downs pretty quick and I am a little sore as a result of this. So I would recommend a full warm up and stretch before starting the sessions

been there lost 29lbs put it back on and now lost 10lbs again. I have used MFP for the last 10 weeks = 10lbs off. MFP works add me if you like and the invitation is open to anyone to add me. i use MFP mainly to monitor my eating and exercise, however it is nice when someone says hi or well done. hi everyone well i have whats called Gilmours groin and can only be repaired with surgery but thats not for me. to be honest it doesnt bother me that much so i put up with it. i have not trained in 4 weeks due to vacation, so i decided on a 5 mile run yesterday ended up with pain behind my left knee, another 5 miles today…

well after yesterdays mad mission of 15 miles then the agaony i took it easy today 20 mins @ 10 min/milles 20 mins strength work in the gym 45mins swimming then a nice well deserved sauna Now off to pick up my grandaughter for 3 hours of fun have a great day everybody D

my normal distances is between 6 - 10 miles, however after 2 weeks out due to fractured ribs grrr i decided id try a solo half marathon this morning. I ended up doing 15.6 miles in 2 hrs 30 min but i was in agony when i stopped, i had weird pains in my legs i couldnt stand, sit or lie down. thankfully the agony has gone…

I agree you can add it, i have set my work life to active as Im a firefighter. however my job is very dynamic and my heart rate can rocket depending on the emergency im attending. Also during extensive training sessions again my heart rate is off the scale. My question is how do you measure work activity though, i cant…

Make sure its a dedicated running store and not just a general sports store. I have used ASICS for years now, a little bit expensive but worth every penny :-)

Just changed my goal to 1lb per week and my cal have went from 1200 to 2000, what a difference however feeling a little guilty now

all very good points and i agree 2lbs is a bit much, therefore i think i will reduce it to 1lb a week. thanks again for the swift replies.
