  • Nothing new to report for me. I was on vacation last week and my goal was to mantain my weight. I did that...So no loss. Hitting hard this week, though!
  • Too funny. I was wondering the same about Banks and was realizing this "new" guy was on a lot of pages. Duh! Glad someone else caught on. I didn't 'til I read this post.
  • I burn 500 cal in an hour. I do the treadmill for 30 minutes at a slight incline and run for 10-15 minutes of that. Then I do weight, and streaching. The key is to keep your heart rate up. If I do a "light" workout and don't get my heart rate up, I'll only burn around 300 in an hour. I would say to buy a heart rate monitor…
  • Okay, I'm late checking in. I left for a trip Monday morning and just got back. Let me start with my exciting news. Sunday ended my 12th week of working out and I've lost 20 pounds. My goal was 20 pounds in 20 weeks, so I'm ahead. I'm shooting for 5 more the next 6 weeks. My hubby will be back by that time from deployment.…
  • Thanks for everyones kind words. I am just getting back from a trip. I left Monday morning, but before I did I had to post my great news. Hope everyone has been having a great week. Keep up the exercise!
  • YES! Today was the day. I set a goal to lose 20 pounds in 20 weeks. Well, I just finished my 12 week and the 20 pounds are gone. I have about 7 more weeks 'til my husband gets back from deployment and I set my new goal for 5 more pounds. Have a great week and Happy workouts to all.
  • I go with my monitor. The machine is only "guessing" (in my mind). Your monitor knows exactly what's going on. Just make sure you put all your stats in correctly and change them as you drop weight. I noticed mine was calculating weird at one point and remembered I had not changed my weight in it since I'd bought it. Once I…
  • I'm not a good cook. How do you make your own fries?
  • I love my heart rate monitor too. I started using it 11 weeks ago and it doesn't let me cheat. I've had to start running to get my heart rate up. I would normaly not run, but the monitor let me know it was time to bump it up. Plus it is more accurate then the monitors that are built into the machines at the gym. I love the…
  • I'm so glad you ladies are posting this info. I always thought my body was weird. After the first baby, I lost a huge amount of weight and had the saggy pouch of skin, plus stretch marks that go way up. Since the second baby, I've yet to lose all the weight, but know I'll be in the same boat as before. I'd have to wear…
  • I love reading everyones info. Last night there were several people talking about hitting the gym. It motivated me to do my workout here at the house and I got up first thing this morning to go to the gym. You guys are all so awesome! :flowerforyou:
  • I agree with you jesusgrl. I read over all this last night and was waiting to see how it all turned out. I would hope that when someone reads any of the post on this site they know that it is someone else's opinion and someone else's trail and error. You have to take what you can use. I have seen things on here I don't…
  • Well, I don't really fit in this club, but I'll add myself anyway. I say I don't fit cause I really need to lose more then 28. I started working out in January with a goal of losing 20 pounds in 20 weeks. Just one pound a week. I just finished my 11th week Monday and have lost 18 pounds. I hope to hit my 20 by next Monday.…
  • That is the funnies thing I've read. Headlamp? Okay, I read this post yesterday and want to give it a try, but it is very rainy here right now and I have two little ones, so no chance to use the gym. I was worried about doing this and having the neighbors laughing at me, but remembered what Banks said about how I might…
  • Ok, I just started Friday, so I'll be excited next Monday to have completed a full week. So far, so good. Sore. But I like it. I need to get a measuring tape and figure out how to do the measuring thing. It's been 3 weeks since I did measurements, and they were done by a friend. Have fun this week with those crunches and…
  • Hey AJCM I found the new post site and I'll let you know tomorrow how it's going. I'm so excited about this challenge and seeing everyone's success! (including mine)
  • Your look beautiful. Keep up the great work. It's not just a "for now" change. It will be a life long change. You will really need to take that dress in come Dec!

  • Don't weigh everyday. You're body changes too much. It will just drag you down. Do once a week. Try to do the same day. Weigh in the morning before food and without clothes. Also you need to drink water. Like the other person posted, if you don't drink enough, you're body holds onto it. You should be drinking 64 oz a day…
  • Okay, I just joined this site yesterday and I am so in. I've been on a workout program the past 11 weeks and have lost 17 pounds. It took me 8 weeks to lose 2.25 inches in my waist and .75 in my hips. I really need to work the mid-section. AJCM, don't feel bad about 29 inches. I'm was at 44.25 three weeks ago. (I need to…
  • I'd like to hear more about isometrics, too. Is it done with a machine or with your own body resistance?
  • I agree with all the good info posted. You need to work your core. That isn't just abs though. You need to work you back too. The abs and back work together. Pilates is great for the core! I gain weight first in my stomach area and it is always the last to come off. I've had two kids, so I know it can be frustrating. Just…
  • :flowerforyou: I totally agree. I don't want to just loose weight. I want to feel good and know I have energy to play with my kids.
