  • Well done :)
  • Tried this, the shop up the road didn't have ricotta, so just used low fat cottage cheese and it was yummy - made double and had it the next day too. Family also enjoyed :)
  • So pleased to have found a diabetic discussion with recipes... please add me as a friend, would love to see more recipes, some sound amazing - would never have thought of using cauliflower as a pizza base or rice for that matter

  • Took me a while to realize too, to realize that you have to eat more to lose !!!!!! Therefore if I've understood this correctly, whether you on a normal diet or low carb diet, as long as you have a MINUMUM of 1200 cal you're ok, but if you go lower than that you'll go into calorie deficit and starvation mode ie. your body…
  • Hi there, am new to this site in general, but am also trying to do the low carb thing ;) My diet consists of breakfast: 1 cup low fat joghurt, 1 cup fruit salad, seeds and one corn thin crumbled in. Lunch and dinner : protein with salad and/or veg with 2 crackers per meal. Tried this a year ago and it worked, but have…

  • Thanks for input - am upping my calories to about 1500 per day and will give that a try. Why does the programme put you on 1200 a day then? How long does the body take to respond to come out of "starvation mode"? I know it will differ from person to person, but generally? I have been starving so long, I really need to…
  • Hi, am so glad to see people discussing this. I've been on 1200 cal per day since Feb and am not shifting any weight, so depressed today and binged on everything illegal - cheated for the first time since start of Feb as had just lost 1 kg despite working out 2 a week, eating all the right things.... perhaps my body is in…
  • Have a glass of water and an apple - know it sounds boring, but it does fill you up. The trick is have the water, eat the apple and leave the kitchen asap ;) not to go back in there until the morning....
  • Thanks for answering, have to work at the water...usually manage 500ml to a litre a day, although when at the gym, I manage to drink more due to the exercise.
  • That was what I was thinking - that I maybe should cut back on the carbs for the beginning and then slowly add once I've had a good kickstart; physically and emotionally, it helps to get going and keep going. So you still have the right amount of calories, just in different proportions. Thanks for taking the time to answer…
  • Hi, just introducing myself. Am about to reach the half a century mark and have for the last 5 years been putting on weight steadily although I spent my life dieting! I see from this site that I don't seem to eat enough to keep my metabolism going, so am trying to eat 5 small healthy meals per day and have lost a kg in a…
  • Good luck, have also just started now Feb....so still friendless and am on that long lonely road trying hard to shed those kg's. You welcome to add me for some encouragement :)
  • How about skinless chicken breasts, stir fry, done with mushrooms and skim milk or in a tomato, onion and garlic base...
