"I'm not losing [or 'loosing'] weight - I'll have to increase my calories." Yeah right, that'll work.

Hi all, this board has gone so quiet. I have schizoaffective disorder and am dealing with weight gain due to meds like lots of other people. Also my meds make me really constipated and I have to take lots of lactulose which is sugar based and quite calorific. I'd love to make new friends here so holler if you'd like to…

Can I join you? I go along calorie counting really well for several weeks then get complacent and start bingeing on chocolate and crisps. The result is I end up almost - not quite - at square one. This two steps forward one back approach means that I have only lost 10lbs since Christmas. I really need to do better!

Be very careful to minimise the amount of fat you eat as it leaks out of your rear end otherwise (to put it bluntly!) Plus you will leave oily stains in any toilet you use which are a devil to get rid of. #embarrassment. My advice would be to ditch them and start a calorie controlled diet. Orlistat just isn't worth the…

I have the same HRM but not had that problem. It sounds faulty to me, I think you should attempt to return it for a replacement.

I've been a veggie for 25 years before becoming a pescetarian (I a eat fish). This gives me plenty of extra grams of protein in my diet as well as being super tasty. Is that an option for you OP?

I think I'm just being cautious as I don't want to shoot myself in the foot by overeating exercise calories. Thanks for your input though, sijomial and Michael - if this is in the ballpark of reasonable it makes me very happy indeed! I don't mind putting in the hours to get a result like that!

Wow weeeee! You go girl! Just a superlatively amazing achievement. You deserve to be justifiably VERY proud of yourself! That took amazing self discipline and perseverance and I take my hat off to you!

I did slimming world for 8 months and lost 51lbs. HOWEVER I developed binge eating disorder. I honestly never had a problem with that before. Yes I overate which made me 50lbs overweight but I'd never go on mad out of control binges on whatever food I could lay my hands on like I began doing at the end of my time on SW. I…

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I hope they help the OP - they're certainly helping me.

There are lots of problems with the Cambridge diet. You lose weight so quickly due to the drastically low calories you take in that you lose large amounts of lean muscle tissue too. This means that once you stop the diet you find yourself skinny fat and more prone to putting on fat as you don't have as much lean muscle…

That's very insightful - I didn't think of that but that is obviously an important factor. Many thanks for pointing that out.

Thankyou all for taking the time to reply - I am taking it all in. Yes, steady state, I did have a bathroom break but paused the HRM for the time i was otherwise engaged and not working out.

I'm in South Wales btw.

You need to get out of your father's home as soon as possible. Whilst you're living there it is not unreasonable to expect you to follow his rules. Why are you even cussing in front of him? Why does he know you're having sex? These things wouldn't upset him if he didn't know, which he shouldn't! I think you should explore…
