Hi there, You can lose weight without exercising if you don't have time and are drained when you get home. In fact, the best way to start is just by eating less than you're eating now. You can figure out how much to eat by going here: http://iifym.com/tdee-calculator/ Realize it's a marathon, not a sprint. You don't have…

Well, you're cheating yourself, of data you'll need to determine what you're actually eating. It's going in your mouth after all.

I'm not the original poster, but my stats are similar and I'm maintaining on 2250. I'm female, 5'6", 128 pounds, 52 years old. I lost 45 pounds last year, reaching goal in August, by netting 1200 calories from Dec 2013 to Aug 2014. At that point I started reverse dieting, adding in about 100 daily calories each week till I…

Have you considered a kettlebell and a video to go along with it? Doesn't take much space at all, and at least you'd be somewhat entertained by the video. I did kettlebell workouts with a Paul Katami video till I bought a barbell and weights, and my husband still does them. I think the TRX workouts look really boring (but…

Three things:* I don't know about running and lifting without having eaten. You need food to fuel your workouts. * Beware an "all or nothing" mentality. You have an elaborate, detailed plan. Which is great, if that's how you motivate yourself. But really all you need to do is eat better (less) than you have been eating. So…

Well, he can do what he wants. You get to decide what goes in your mouth. (I'd suggest nothing if you're done with calories for the day.) It doesn't matter what he eats, does it?

It's people!

Methinks you're right. But you got the gist. ;)

Anger dude has anger issues. As well as an inferiority complex masking itself as a superiority complex. Best to just leave him alone, or he'll hurt someone IRL.

I am cold all the time. This winter's been unseasonably warm in New England, but I have to wear tights under my pants to keep warm, even in the house. I'm pretty sure it's the weight loss, as all my blood work is normal. The tights are just replacing the layer of fat I lost.

51 yo female here, a few days from 52. I want to add my vote to strength training. It'll help with your arthritis, as you'll build up muscles around the joints. You'll also regain your bikini body. Even if you'd never wear a bikini (as I wouldn't), it's nice to see a young looking body in the mirror when you're changing.…

^^ Want to clarify that 10-13% is actually very low for women, just barely above dangerous. It's really safer to shoot for at least 14%, and probably for OP closer to 20%. Here's a chart http://www.builtlean.com/2010/08/03/ideal-body-fat-percentage-chart/

You do look great at 137. I think you're smart to accept yourself at that weight. Eight pounds really isn't that meaningful, and if you can have peace at 137, have peace at 137.

This is kind of harsh. Her advice isn't bad. You took her historical "slash and burn" calorie restriction level, which lots of folks (including me) use sometimes for a quick result, and acted like she's still eating at that level and suggesting OP do so as well. She's suggesting reverse dieting up to maintenance, which is…

I don't really qualify since I'm 5'6", but my personal experience has been that I am happy in the weight range prescribed by the old fashioned weight charts, like this one http://www.assessmentpsychology.com/metlife.htm or alternatively, that old fashioned formula that states "100 pounds for the first 5 feet, 5 pounds for…

Yes, thank for for explaining that, although I thought I was being pretty clear. Plus, as I stated, I'm not young myself.
-
Just wondering, why does your maintenance calorie intake need to be so low? Are you tiny or old? (I'm pretty old (51) and 5'6" and my maintenance calories are turning out to be around 1900 calories a day.)

I can't tell if you want a serious answer or not, but this article explains it pretty well. http://www.predatornutrition.com/en/content/losing-body-fat-for-women/

Fantastic! Congratulations!

I work out in the mornings, but my hubs works out right when he gets home from work. I think the transition period is important. Once you get into the evening routine it's hard to carve out the time to do the workout. I agree with the poster that said dinner can wait. Maybe give the kids some veggies to munch on or…

Wicked corny, an older "Biggest Loser" theme song. "What have you done today to make you feel proud?" Helped me lose 44 pounds.

I try to hover below my goal weight a little bit, as I'm most comfortable with that approach. I hit 130 in August, and have been hovering in the 127-128 range since, with a few forays into 129. Once I hit 131, but it dropped right back down with my regular maintenance eating. Didn't need to cut calories.

Staying. I like logging/measuring even though I'm at goal. Even when I have a piggy day or two, I find it useful to see what that does to my weight, as I'm now trying to up my maintenance calories a bit.
-
I agree 100% with all of this. It's what I did/am doing and it's working out great.

Oops. 4639. Calculated the pumpkin pie wrong. :o

MFP sets me at 1510. My actual is 1850 (based on 3 months of maintaining, which ties in with most TDEE calculators). I am a 5'5.5, 128 lb., 51 year old female who lifts 4x a week and does no intentional cardio.

It took me from May 23 through Sept 12, so 16 weeks. A little more than double the 6.5 weeks it took me to lose the 10 pounds before that. I did bump my calories up gradually by first 100, then 200, then 300, etc. during those 16 weeks so I had a "soft landing" at my goal weight, which is why it took longer. Wanted to undo…
