  • Generally, on vacations I track. 3 years ago, I was on a cruise and didn't track b/c (a) no internet access to keep it up and (b) buffet style lunches. I did, however, go to the ship gym 3 times over 5 days; took the stairs instead of elevator the majority of the time; and walked so so much. ENJOY!
  • the last 3 days are messed up for me. I went as far as disconnecting and reconnecting the accounts. Now MFP is calculating the wrong base burn and pulling the wrong actual burn from FB...
  • As a test, I did the dumby cardio on the last day that didn't show MFP Calories Burned = 1579 and deleted. This corrected MFP Calories Burned = 1579. I basically just corrected my exercise diary for the last 35 days. Thanks, MFP, for working so imperfectly. I didn't have anything else to do today *sarcasm*
  • I think I got mine fixed...for the time being. Here's what I did. It's an unnecessarily long process for something that is supposed to just work. 1. In excel (I'm a data kinda person and can quickly analyze in excel), put it what MFP was reporting as "fitbit Calories Burned", "MFP Calories Burned", the math assoc with the…

  • Here are two links to two training programs provided to 1/4 marathon participants (6.55 miles vs the 10k's 6.2 miles). I used the beginners one last year when I was training for a 1/4 marathon. They're longer than 10 weeks but since you've already established the 5k, you can probably skip to week 7.…
  • all of the fitbits are water resistant (not water proof, i.e. no swimming, no showering). But I have a flex. I'm a numbers/data person. Looking at daily burn vs daily food over the entire year and beginning of year weight vs end of year weight, I was off by 10 calorie a day (with a 75 calorie/day adjustment in my food…
  • http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1903-fit-fabulous-pregnant Here's a group I visited a lot during my pregnancy in 2014. You should be able to find a lot of answers to many questions. But you OB is the best source for answers...
  • My ob/gyn told me not to go crazy with over eating... For my 1st trimester: I set my goal to maintenance and continued to run/work out. I ate back exercise calories. 2nd trimester: Still set to maintenance but added a negative 300 calories to my diary (could also add 100 exercise calories but I have a fitbit so it would…
  • I just ran a 1/2 last Sunday and had little appetite after; only ate about 1/2 of the finisher food that was provided. I ordered a pizza and snacked on that most of the day and had cereal for dinner. Ended up with almost 900 calories left on Sunday I did eat over maintenance a few days during the week so my weekly total…
  • The BMI numbers don't consider body fat %. Two 6' tall men, both 250 lb. One is 5% body fat, the other 40%. Very different look, same BMI: "obese".
  • NOPE. My dad was diagnosed with colon cancer March 2014. Only diet change he made: no more eggs over easy (runny, raw yoke) and medium steaks. The one huge change to his body: 6 weeks of daily chemo and radiation, you know, poison used to kill the body's cells. A year and half later (and a couple surgeries) he's cancer…

  • I'm set to 1580 at 5'6, sedentary, maintenance. My average consumption is 1800, though, with the activity I am doing. I've been fluctuating between the same 3 pounds for 6 months (I weigh daily which is why I see so much natural fluctuation).
  • wendy's frosty...but I was 17 and not watching what I was eating.
  • FYI the flex is not waterproof! https://fitbit.com/flex#specs It is "...sweat, rain and splash proof. However, the device is not swim proof. We also recommend taking Flex off before showering..."
  • +1 Rolled right over that tide this year

  • I assumed early on that we were having a girl but the week of my ultrasound something clicked. I was certain our baby was a boy; maybe I was gearing myself up for the doctor to say "It's a boy". But low-and-behold, I was initially right, she's a girl and I can't wait to meet her!! 3 more weeks to go!!
