  • Great job!
  • I found a recipe that is quick and easy from Chris Powell's carb cycling book. I spice the turkey up with Mrs. Dash southwestern spice. Cook the turkey then divide it up into 3-4 oz portions. Add 1/4 c frozen corn, 1/4 c black beans, 1/4 c diced green/red peppers and then add 3-4 tbs salsa. I freeze these and then just pop…
  • I'll have to remember this when my scale won't go down. Right now I need it to jump start me.
  • Hi Solar, I'm going gluten free and doing the plan as well. Feel free to add me if you like.
  • Feel free to add me too. I'm in government as a AP/Payroll supervisor. I'm gluten free right now so that pretty much cuts out all the treat that people bring in. I buy a lot of bagged salad mixes and add my own chicken or ham. I eat alot of greek yogurt and have either protein shakes or bars on hand for my snacks. I get a…
  • feel free to add me as a buddy...I'll support you.
  • Excellent work! Working out like that will definitely mean eating more than a minimum of 1200 cals. With my back I struggle to do anything other than my physical therapy routine...but I have been adding a few things as tolerated. If I can get that under control, I'll be on the move. I did order some walk at home videos for…
  • My plan allows for either a free meal multiple times a week (but not dinner) or one free day each week. I was nervous at first but there is also a calorie allowance for the extra free meal. I think you have to reward yourself and it depends on if you can keep it in check. I'm not one that will continue on with the "junk"…
  • Hi Jasmine, Believe you can do anything you set your mind to. Like the others said..take it slow. I'm trying to lose weight I gained when I quit smoking. This is one tool I use. Another I found to keep me from eating too much is LOTS of water. I get the Aldi's liquid flavor squirt things and that has helped alot. I'm…
  • I'm doing gluten free because it upsets my stomach. It's easy for me to stick to my plan because it's actually not a magic diet. It's just the water I'm not used to. I've been counting my calories and staying within the guidelines. It seems to have worked for a lot of people and eating lots of veggies can't be bad for me.…
  • I think it's probably the water. I guess the scale will tell me tomorrow! Thanks for the reply
  • Hey Becs, how is it going?
  • Hi there, I'm doing the classic. I've just started Chris Powell's plan but have been doing carb cycling for about 6 weeks...although not sticking to it strickly. I lost 4 lbs. I'm hoping if I really stick to this classic plan it will work. Of course, I'm cutting out alcohol so that should make a huge difference. I will…
  • Thanks for the links....very good ideas!
  • Hi Fluffy, That is excellent! I'm just starting today but have been doing carb cycling on my own before getting strict about it. I have about 15lbs to lose.
  • Hi Vsera.....my weight loss has been very slow and I'm going to really ramp it up starting on Monday. I'm going to follow Chris Powell's carb cycling plan as it seems to be the best for me because I can have a splurge day. I gained a bit of weight over the last year because I quit smoking. My frustration has come because I…
  • Not eating enough calories will put your body in starvation mode.....which defeats you trying to lose weight. It's important to each often so your body doesn't think it's not going to get fed and needs to store the calories. Like others said...minimum intake should be 1200 calories.
  • High sodium intake can increase your weight from 5-10lbs.
