We just started a group into a new bootcamp+ class this morning which includes CF. My advice is to really focus on your form at first. Ask questions. Don't overload yourself. Watch others. Aaaannddd...have fun!

It's always time to focus on strength training!
-
Do you have a specialty running store near you? A lot of times you can go in, they'll put you on a treadmill and critique your stride as well as recommend a shoe. Definintely worth it!
-
Sounds like your body is getting stronger and adjusting to the demands are you putting on it, which is great news! Add miles to your weekly total as you feel comfortable and add in some intervals as well. Enjoy!
-
Strengthen your leg muscles but start with 45 degree squats/lunges instead of going all the way down.
-
Good shoes are very important! If you did c25k you could have runners knee. It's basically an overuse injury. You may need some time off, a special brace, and to strengthen your leg muscles. See a doctor if it continues!

So many first time gym-goers feel intimidated. I have seen people walk in, look around, get that deer-in-the-headlights look, and walk out. I always try to say hi to new members, whether I am at the gym I work at or the gym where I meet my husband. If you join a gym, ask for an initial complimentary training session. The…

It sounds like you have runners/jumpers knee. Take a few days off and go from there. If you still have pain, see a doc. As for muscle soreness, maybe just go for a walk, do some light stretching or yoga, and give yourself a break.
-
Can you call your doc and get an RX for a physical therapy session? Even if you just go to one session you will get an idea of what you can do and go from there.
-
It depends on the bootcamp. if it's mainly just bodyweight stuff, I'd add in a day of lifting and see how you feel.
-
Can you do a partial lunge or squat?
-
Whenever you have time!
-
Lift heavy things. HEAVY. Add intervals to your cardio.
-
My husband always saves me too soon, drives me nuts! As for someone you don't know, say "I'm trying for 6, can you jump in if I say ASSIST?"

I had a boot camper beg to flip the tires one day, she said she had seen them laying out on the turf but wasn't sure how to do it. It was kinda funny to see someone so excited about tractor tires :)

There are different certification agencies. I studied and passed my test within 2 months, but I have also taken nutrition classes before and spent many, many hours in the gym. I also interned with a trainer which was very, very helpful. Different trainers will specialize in different areas. It also depends on the gym and…

Oh, and I am really really really hoping that boss pays my way to training soon!

I'm just getting into it and I love it! I usually fit in 3 CF workouts a week with my boss, then I lift with my hubby a few days a week, and I'm trying to build my miles back up as well....there's just not enough time in the day.... I love that it's something new, I can scale it to my skill/ability level, and it's…

I agree with the previous poster. It's insane how many calories I eat because I'm trying to bulk. Whenever I feel "off" I go eat. And rest days are important!
-
That is awesome! Keep it up!
-
Put your feet under something heavy to get some leverage!
-
Have you lifted before? If not, ask a trainer to check your form on whatever lifts you choose. Make sure you get the form and technique down before loading yourself with too much weight. Once you get the basics down THEN add your weight. I'd suggest 3 sets of 6-8 reps. Once you can get 8 reps, add 5-10% more weight. Don't…

I cool down really quickly. If I'm not going to be able to shower right away, I add layers before I am completely cooled down until I can get a shower and clean, dry clothes.

My kids love their yoga DVDs. They also like to play Wii Fit. My 5 year old was doing gymnastics and they would do pull ups and sit ups. I taught her a pushup one day (which is hilarious to watch) because she was asking what I teach people at the gym (I coach bootcamp)...my husband got home and the kids and I were doing…

It takes time for your skin to tighten back up. Then it really just comes down to fat loss and clean eating. How old is your baby? My youngest is 3 and, although I swore it wouldn't happen, I am starting to feel a bit of baby fever :)

If you are sore, you can workout. If you are hurting, take another day to recover. I always feel so much better soreness-wise if I get out and workout. Have fun!
-
You should definitely check it out! It's fun! It can be scaled to any fitness level and a good instructor will make sure you are doing proper form. There are some people who love it, some who hate it, some who refuse to try it. If it interests you, try it. If you hate it, that's fine. If you love it, awesome. I wasn't sure…

I suggest to take at least one day off per week. You run the risk of overtraining and derailing your whole plan if you push too hard. That said....I don't always listen to my own advice :) My husband has specific days (M/W spin, T/Th/Su lift) and he refuses to switch it up (stubborn old man) whereas I just go on how I…

hangng leg raises. v-ups always get my bootcampers swearing at me. planks, especially side planks. and, what i always swear by....hill sprints!

I ask my kids (3 and 5 years) to put away the toys that they have been playing with. They know it is expected of them and that the quicker they clean up, the quicker they get home to have their snack. The daycare worker doesn't "require" it but I think it's the right thing to do. Our gym daycare is free and the third time…
