Hi ladies, I'm Kerrie, just starting back at Oly after a few months break, (finally managed to purchase a bar and weights for home) while waiting for the gym to re-open. I find the heavy weight section overloaded with dudes who just want to hog everything and stand around talking crap, but when I'm at my actual…

I'm on medication for depression, I have been for years, it took a few months to adjust to the meds, but like you I aim to be free of medication one day soon. My doctor advised me that in my case weight-loss, particularly the loss of visceral fat will help, but until my visceral fat is at an acceptable level, I won't be…

I get really pissed off when I get questioned about why I'm eating or not eating a certain food, it's none of anyone else business what I put in my mouth. I have IBS and have a lot of weight to loose, so I have to be particular. I find my work colleagues and family to be the worst offenders, unfortunately I can't tell them…

I love getting DOMs, then I know I'm putting my muscles under tension. I take magnesium in tablet form and I use baths salts when I'm feeling really sore. BCAA's are great, I take them intra-workout, if you can get in a cold pool or the beach that's a great way to reduce swelling. On my rest days I like to walk-it-out, do…

You're entitled to wear what makes you comfortable when working out, but don't judge people who wear form fitting clothes to the gym. I am an overweight woman who felt extremely self-conscious about returning to the gym, I would wear baggy tops and sweats to hide my body, but as I started to get fitter (still overweight…

Thank you so much for clarifying this! Thankfully I haven't woo-ed anyone, but I certainly thought woo was like "woohoo" or "well-done", Iooks like I'm getting too old to internet lol

There are literally hundreds of combos, it depends on the flavour of the protein powder you bought. My favourite combo is: 1 scoop Vanilla Icecream Whey (I use ON 100% Whey) 300mls of water and ice 2 teaspoon Natures way greens with wild reds+ powder (tastes like strawberry, full of vitamins and probiotic) 150-250g Frozen…

Like with any life choice/change it has to suit you and be something you enjoy doing. For me intermittent fasting is more about time management and eating to fit in with my life. I work odd hours and study part time. I have a terrible habit of eating poorly at night, so only having to prep 2 main meals instead of 3 saves…

I have had issues with scales in the past, I now only use the scales at the gym, they tell me how much is body fat, bone mass, muscle etc, you might find that you are loosing body fat and gaining muscle at an relatively equal rate. If you can get access to one of these scales I highly recommend it, otherwise ditch the…

Today is all about enjoying the little things, I spent some time watching the ducks in the river out the back of work and took a lunchtime leisurely stroll in the spring sunshine :)

Any chance there will be a September thread? I just got here. Todays self-care was the boxing at the gym (i consider boxing mental therapy as well as physical) and later tonight I have scheduled some RPG gaming time with my wonderful partner, I get to snuggle on the couch and kill the bad guys, W00t!

Classic Meat and Three Veg Meat: Either reheat left over roast meat (I cook lamb every Sunday in the slow cooker and freeze left overs in batches with meat juice, I also buy a couple of rotisserie chicken, break them up and freeze) or oven cook lean meat, can marinate meat with lemon juice and herb mix if you have time.…

My experience may not be the same as yours, but I stopped eating dairy (I had a very high milk intake), stopped drinking Coke and alcohol, increased healthy foods and introduced structured exercise. Once I lost between 5-10kg my symptoms were gone, after I lost 45kg, no more fatty liver. Good luck.

I was severely depressed for multiple personal reasons and started to self medicate, the tablets were causing indigestion so I started drinking a lot of chocolate milk and eating ice cream to sooth the pain, and things snowballed from there, I ended up gaining over 60kg, had a fatty liver and a continual period for more…

I feel ya, I can go nuts for days after a binge, especially when I was on a very restrictive diet, but it's getting easier, plus I'm eating a more realistic calorie intake which helps heaps.

Both posts are fake, but the reply reminds me of myself a little, I've lost 45kg since I started at the gym and have probably 30kg more to go, and still I get looked at and judged (mostly when I'm in the women's part of the gym), but I don't give a *kitten* because ill hop on a machine or pick up weights at least 3 times…

Thank goodness for this thread! I feel a little better about my secret binging. Last Sunday I ate a chocolate jam donut for breakfast that was left over from the day befores binge that included an entire pack of CC's, a jar of salsa, a choc jam donut and 1ltr of creamy soda, damn it was good. And I don't log on those days…

This. And what I do is do interval training for 20 mins on the elliptical and then move to either the bike or the rower for the last 10mins, and again I do interval training on those, get's more done in less time and it's better for your heart and lungs, I also use a heart rate monitor so I know how hard I'm working.
