flossyruby1 sounds as if you had a great day today. The veggie panini with cheez sounds great.

Hi I normally do 3 days @ 700-800 calories which I find suits my life style better. I normally have soup at lunchtime then a meal in the evening of meat and veg or salad. I found that 500 for me was too little. I also try to drink about 1 and 1/2 litres of fizzy water a day. Hope this helps.

The book is The Diet Trap by Judith Beck. It looks interesting and isn't a diet book per se but training our brains to lose weight. Will let you know how I get on

Having got back onto 5:2 I am to look at my weeks diary and plan to have no more than 1 session eating out. If we are going to socialise then i need to be mindful the rest of the week and plan for that session. I also have a book to read which is about our bodies and them sabotaging us deliberately when we seem to be doing…

mamainthekitchen I too have had those bizarre days where you get to the and and that little demon just eggs you on to eat the strangest things. It is almost as if the more you try to deny the worse the craving gets

Hi I normally eat 1600. I did try the 2 X FD but just found 500 was too low for me but this seems to work for me. Not sure it is true 5:2 in the purest sense but I think it is better for me to stick to this and manage it that to devour everything in sight when I get so hungry. I also found that i feel more balanced but…

My fast day yesterday was slightly off as I ate my meal at lunchtime. My normal pattern is a 4:3 as I find that is a better fit with my lifestyle but normally try to keep to 700-800 on those days. I just found it was too hard doing 500. I know this works for me but everyone is different and I think we all have to do what…

I think sometimes we can become obsessed with measurements and numbers and actually it is about do I feel good. I have started again on the 5:2 after some months away and the weight going back on. It is a good way to measure things using clothing as a goal. I have a couple of dresses and some jeans I want to get into again…

Amazing and such inspiration :)

You have every right to be happy. That weight loss is awesome.

Fast day going ok at the moment. Nice salad for tea with a bit of griddles chicken.
-
Today is the first FD of the week so just making sure I have lots of water with me at work. I don't know about you but I do find sparkling water tastes so much better than still.

Last week was the first week back on the 5:2 for sometime and must say it feels so good to be back following this programme. Managed to lose 3lbs so over the moon and it just goes to show that the 5:2 is a brilliant eating plan. Always recommending it to others and realise that it is important to be mindful about what I…

I am back on mfp after a long break and back on the 5:2 after gaining back weight.I am on the second FD of the week and already feel the benefits of this regime. I know this works I just need to get my head back into the zone. Hope you are all having a great week.
-
That is brilliant. Well done and keep with it obviously it suits you

I am up front about the 5:2 and most people have been very positive. Some of hubby's work colleagues refer to it as that weird diet but I say it works for us so whatever. There was a brilliant programme in the UK recently with lots of experts and IF was advocated on one of the proffered methods of weight loss.

Sometimes a little treat goes a long way. I too weight in tomorrow and this weekend has been a feast out one with anything not nailed down eaten, will wait to see what that reading says then fingers crossed it will be the same with no gain.

Sometimes if your system gets really low then the medicine boosts it back up again. I think that some people are affected by the seasons more than others but this is a great place to come to as everyone is so positive. There is no judgement and just somewhere to vent if the need arises. Hope you start to pick up soon.…

I wouldn't say I really enjoy them but they are a necessary evil and come with the territory.
-
Welcome to the 5:2. How are you all getting on with it?
-
Hi welcome to the 5:2 and what a brilliant programme it is. I have been doing it just over a year and do track all days ( mostly) as I find it keeps me focused. I am more aware now of what foods contain so it is maybe that this year it is not so imperative as it was at the beginning.
-
Welcome back to the boards. Hope you get well soon. Toned and weight off is would be be something positive out of a bad injury.

There is now a train of thought that it is the waist measurement that is more important as opposed to BMI. Sometimes the bmi seems ridiculously low and I have friends who are obsessed by it yet look gaunt and ill because they are still considered to be overweight according to the chart.
-
Looking really great and well done for what you have achieved. Not an easy route but such a reward when you start to see the results that is what keeps us going
-
Congratulations on the will power you showed. It is a lifestyle change that we all need to come to terms with and that is not always easy but you are doing great.
-
You look really great. Well done.
-
Wow everyone on here is truly amazing and such an inspiration.

Normally have tikka masala, sag aloo and peshwari naan. Luckily all the family loves Indian so it is a good choice. Haven't had chinese in a long time as I find it very greasy now.
