I was not the poster but that sounds like me -terrible sleeper - I have been taking melatonin and it helps - also I know that my cortisol stress level is high and has been for years - did they give any advice about what to do? Is there anything you know that I can read about it? Thanks, L

I would like to be able to swim again - when i was in my 20's I used to swim a mile a day - I was in great shape but it has been 20 years since I have been in a swimsuit and I have a torn rotator cuff so I can't swing my arm to do the crawl stroke . Some day I would like to get back to swimming. Walking is actually good…

I haven't done that but I can understand the overwhelming cravings. For me - it is at night after I have gone to bed - if I have eaten carbs during the day - I get this overwhelming sense of hunger(?) that just won't stop - like a constant voice to get something to eat…I drink water and wait but the thought just won't…

I am mostly walking - I can see the improvement in my speed and length of walks which is encouraging but honestly to say fun……I guess this is another example of where attitude can help - I will try to remember…this is fun!

I am definitely carb sensitive - I can feel the difference when I am not eating carbs. I feel better - sleep better and my skin is clearer. I also get that addictive craving feeling when I am eating too many carbs . Not so much when I am eating clean. I feel better with higher protein, lots of veggies and some fruit and…

Hi Julie - First I want to say thank you for organizing the group and for being such a great, involved, smart moderator! I like this post - I do say "I am trying….I want to lose weight… I want to be healthier…….but trying is different than DOING. You are correct - words have power.

I have the same issues - I take care of everyone but myself - I do feel uncomfortable being nice to myself but I also hope that as I do it - it will become easier. I also have drawers full of products that I have never taken the mere minutes to use - time to Spring Clean!
-
HI - I am also focusing on drinking enough water - one glass before each meal and snack.

I just wear regular capris and yoga pants but I was having problems chafing under my arm when wearing a certain bra - which now is in the garbage - and I also used the Monistat chafing gel (Amazon) and it worked great.

Good point!

Nice weather here - so gardening!

I log everything but if I have an over calories day and feel bummed about it -- I look at the weekly report and not just one day - its the cumulative effect that matters over time.

I dont know if it helped the OP but this speaks to me!

I have done the same and I do feel better but I am concerned as I have high LDL cholesterol (not good) - high HDL (good) and low Triglycerides (also good)- has anyone had their cholesterol levels checked since starting the LCHF and what were the results? My blood pressure has gone down:). Thanks!

If you dont care - why should we? Diabetes is a terrible disease - my nephew struggles every day but he doesnt have the choice you do - he is Type 1 and would give anything or do anything to cure himself.

I also have a problem with sleep - I have been taking melatonin and it really helps - take it an hour before you want to sleep. Also I feel sick when I take Benadryl - its not good for your BP - you don't really get a good night sleep and wake up groggy - try the melatonin.

At my oldest sons christening (he was 4 months old) - my ex- Mother-in-Law pinched my stomach and said - "You are still carrying around a lot of bacon right there" - That was 25 years ago and i can still feel the humiliation. Her son was also a charmer.
-
You did not say how you lost your weight - do you really want to help those on MFP or you just want clients - really not helpful.

good info

I don't remember having to clean our plates but I do wish my parents had taught me to eat slowly and stop eating when I was satisfied - not full. Neither of my parents were overweight but all 4 of their children are either overweight or obese - and none of their 12 grandkids are overweight. Curiouser and curiouser….

I also adjusted my calories up to around 1400. I have an open diary and log daily.

I do not think you should cut out any food but I think especially when you limit your calories you should be more mindful of the nutrients in those calories that you do eat - You probably will lose the same with say 1200 calories of "real" food vs 1200 calories of "junk" food but will you feel as good - will you be as…

Both the chocolate almond milk and the vanilla yogurt have added sugar - use unflavored and then add in cocoa powder if you want the chocolate flavor. Bananas are usually sweet enough. (Or what she said - see above!)
-
Great job! Looks like what you are doing is really working for you!
-
Life without chocolate - no thanks!

Thanks for taking the time to address my question niloufarK - It was probably more of a hypothetical question to myself - sort of a wishful goal as I have so far to go - realistically - I would be happy with 1 or 2 pounds a week - as long as I am on the losing trend. I like to participate in the challenges as it helps keep…
