  • I too have been through a divorce with two kids and my ex was dating as soon as I filed....I had to file because he was too lazy-not that he didn't want the divorce. Anyway, I lost a lot of weight through the process and thought I was ready to "get out there" and date. For me, it was not the healthiest thing to do. I would…
  • I totally agree! Swimming is a fantastic way to get exercise! Not only is it good cardio, but you're using all of your body! When I used to swim regularly, I was fit and toned ALL OVER! I no longer have easy access to a pool, but I am checking into my options so I can get back into swimming. I have arthritis and lower back…

  • hahahaha.......i forgot to mention that my friend told me lots of folks go out and buy a cheap gel seat to use for class...i figure i have enough padding...anyway, let me know how it goes. I'm checking it out next tuesday. I stopped going to clubs for the reason you mentioned. Now I'm just an old fat broad working out with…

  • i got an e-mail from the SCC web site (i subscribed a while back for news and tour info). They have provided more info about this tragedy and appreciation for the overwhelming support. If anyone would like this info, just send me a message with your email and i would be happy to pass it along. Sue

  • So sad and tragic. I can't even begin to imagine the pain of losing a child. Prayers to SCC and his family!:brokenheart:
  • EVERYTHING!! I am emotional eater--stress, happy, sad, whatever. If I deny myself something for too long, I will binge on it-- (pizza, cookies, cake, chips, you name it!) Being around my family (not my kids but my mom & brothers) will set me off....usually starting with alcohol......it's not pretty. So, now my home is free…
  • Greetings and welcome! This is a great site! I too have done the dieting thing for years (lost 90 on WW), always gaining it back. Now I'm committed to losing it for good!! Feel free to drop me a note anytime! We can encourage each other! Sue:happy:

  • Hey Tami, You are truly an inspiration. I am doing MFP with a co-worker. She is struggling right now with staying motivated. She has been on a plateau for 3 or 4 weeks. She is increasing her activity but is getting discouraged. Any suggestions on how to break that plateau we all hit along the way? Thanks, Sue
  • Great story! Congratulations! You are going to make it! I would love to hear more about your journey! Sue
  • yes, fell off the wagon big time....yesterday was just too ugly for words. I know we still have to "live" but I certainly could have lived without the two-scoop ice cream sundae at 9:00 last night....one step forward....three steps back...oh well, back at it today!
  • Hooray!! So glad Whitney won! Now, if we can get the magazines and clothing catalogs to get a clue. I am rather tired of browsing the "plus size" catalogs and seeing only thin women wearing the clothes. Some of the styles are ridiculous! But it really would be helpful to see what the clothing would look like on a…
  • 1. cutting off my air supply when i bend over to tie my shoes! 2. having to ask for a seat-belt extender when I fly on an airplane 3. wearing a bra that has ten rows of hooks in the back! 4. granny panties! 5. my ugly, matronly, fat clothes!
  • I'm in! I'm down 27 since January. My goal for May is to get below 300! I'm 5'11" and want to get to 180. My emphasis also is on health! I've always been a "big girl" (hate that term) but didn't struggle with weight until college because I was very active. Now I'm approaching 50 and want a better quality of life. I think…
  • Well, I weighed in at my doctor's appointment yesterday afternoon. I am down 9 pounds since I started MFP in April! My doc was thrilled. Plus, my blood pressure is way down--another bonus! In January, I was 337, I'm now at 310. My goal for May is to get below that 300 mark! By the way, I read on the web yesterday that for…
  • I started in April. My scale at home isn't working correctly, so I'll get weighed next Monday at my doctor's appointment. I was approx. 319 when I started this (was heavier in January) and want to lose around 140#. I'm looking forward to my appointment--some of my clothes are looser! I LOVE this site--I have done so many…
  • Great suggestions! Thanks! Also, my daughter and I recently started drinking V8 fusion--one cup is like two servings of fruits and veggies (or something like that). They have great flavors (Banana/Strawberry is her favorite).
  • I was diagnosed with Hypothyroid disease 8 years ago. I was tested before that and my numbers where in the "high normal" range. My doctor thought it was no big deal. A couple years later, I was off the charts. Even if they tell you it's normal, I would recommend getting re-tested at least once a year. The only way they…
  • I also have severe arthritis. One doc told me swimming is the absolute best thing....I was recently in Florida and was able to swim every day. I varied my "routine" with just moving in the water--not in shape enough to swim laps. I wasn't totally pain free, but it was a lot better than anything else. I have access to a…
