  • Congrats ! You look great!
  • wow @BarbaraR5563, glad youre doing well now!
  • Thank you, @nataliestratton3 :)
  • Karlottap, glad to hear that…makes me hopeful :) Merry Christmas
  • I'm heading in tomorrow to have my vsg converted into a roux en y because of severe gerd..if there is any history of reflux pre surgery, seriously consider the vsg to not be a good option
  • I wasn't expecting to be so emotional post surgery. It really does get better and you end up living a very normal life. Hang in there.
  • Hang in there…i promise it only gets better and soon you don't remember any of it being a big deal…just how worth it it is
  • There's no reason you can't eat any variety of foods you want, once you're past the initial stages of getting to regular foods. Some people choose to eliminate certain foods forever. I choose to prioritize protein, but not having any off limits foods. I'm under 10 lbs from my goal, and had my surgery 7 months ago.
  • my husband's life hasn't changed much, as far as food goes…I still cook the same stuff I always did. Before my surgery I thought he was a bit weird, too. I think he was actually internalizing his nervousness about the whole process and the unknown. Maybe that's what's going on with your husband? Mine is definitely enjoying…
  • i was told vsg often makes gerd worse…it has with me as well. not much helps..i was told that possibly the only thing that will is if i was to have "part 2" and end up with gastric bypass. it certainly can be miserable. hope you get relief
  • Nioxin is helping me a bit with regrowth. it's pricey but it's a huge bottle that lasts a long time. i've found it cheapest on amazon
  • i had my thyroid removed due to thyroid cancer 19 years ago. The sleeve shouldn't affect your medication. I've been on 300mcg for years now. but, even if it has to be adjusted..no biggie . good luck!
  • I had to bring mine, but i couldnt tolerate it post-op with the nausea
  • sorry...posted before i entered my reply lol... I struggled with eating disorders from the time i was 16...every kind under the sun. I can completely relate to the constant struggle to stay on track. It's a lot of work post surgery to not fall back into unhealthy ways again. Feel free to message and friend request me if…
  • Welcome to the best decision you've ever made! I'm glad your surgery went well. Nausea and vomiting despite iv meds and the patch was the worst part of it all for me, so I'm happy for you that you avoided that! Good luck!
  • i use the gummy multis from costco and they work out well.
  • I'm Brook, Got sleeved January 20th of this year and feel great now! Best decision ever.
  • The only thing I cared about was chapstick, my robe, and some breath spray (helped me feel more human after throwing up so much). Good luck!
  • Yadira, your stomach is likely still swollen from the surgery. Just sip all day, slowly. capful size sips...it will get better :)
  • The day before I started my liquid pre-op diet, I ate eggplant parm like it was my job ;)
  • Hi...I understand the difficulty of working around food constantly. I suggest you try keeping a protein drink on the line with you so you can sip that throughout the day/night and keep cravings away. i think keeping protein easily on hand with you will be key.
  • I experienced the same thing...i was convinced it just wasn't going to work for me...but once i started soft foods, and then solids...i became full quickly and had to remind myself to eat. hang in there...it gets better!
  • Gloriabermude, I had my surgery on January 20th. I kept reading about everyone who felt great right away and was frustrated that I definitely did not feel great! It took me 4 weeks for my right side to stop that "ripping" feeling. Be careful, though, with leg pain...you want to make sure you don't have a clot. Hang in…
  • I was sleeved 1/20 and down 29#'s ..would love some fellow vsg friends, so feel free to add :)
