I have a hernia that is pretty huge, sticks out about 6 inches..surgeon says I need to lose weight before it is operated on if I'm not in immediate pain, so I'm in the midst of it and going to regular dr visits so my own dr can also keep an eye on it...she said "ooh, lets get you smaller so we can get this taken care of"…

I think you're doing great, I found for awhile I was in the same boat with the inches instead of pounds and since I started I am down 4 pant sizes. Sounds like you have a really good head on your shoulders and you are doing a great job. Congrats on your loss! Do what works best for you and your body. They may be slimmer but they might not be healthier. Keep it up and try not to debate where possible to just stop it. Gj :)

I had an attack last July when I'd lost some weight, I haven't had another one since. The dr did say he wanted to take it out but advised me to lose some weight first, especially since it was only one attack and the risks were greater at my size, but he said otherwise if I was a healthy weight it would be coming out.

I'm also looking to lose over 100lbs...way over sadly but well on the way one step at a time. Anyone can feel free to add me, I try and be a good friend and provide support when able. Good luck to us all :)
