  • No. She is still rebelling as hard as she can. The last text I received was 2/15 said she had to get to bed, text tomorrow, and she loved me. No response to me when I text or call.
  • Unfortunately , I am to have second hip surgery this year. Reoccurent tear worsened and bursitis , scar tissue, and possible new tear in outer labrum. Keep lifting ladies. I'll be back ( in my best Arnold voice )
  • Aigre, so each stage is only 10 minutes of intervals only? If so, How can a person increase the amount of intervals from 3-6? Less recovery time? Or am I really confused? LOL That's a great back squat! It is my nemesis. I didn't conquer it in NROL4W. I'll give it another try with Strong. I mostly do goblet squats or…
  • Hi, Aigre! How long does it take you to do intervals? It seems like it is getting longer for me. I am only beginning Strong. I am in Stage 1 . Am I not understanding it correctly? Right now I am doing 4 intervals which take about 15 minutes. by the time I add the full 6 it will be around 22 minutes. It seems like I read…
  • Good news . I rocked the gym today! WOOOOO Bad news. I had a 3 month follow up about my hip. I have to do another arthrogram MRI and possible surgery. I am not progressing like I should. Jo, that is awesome! Beeps, yay for work! Dawn, impressive numbers.
  • JO! I have been researching and researching until I found the answer that would satisfy me about the arm in the single arm /leg dead lift. Yes, I understand you what to improve your grip , but I had to research WHY it was important. " The other lift is a single arm, single leg dead lift. Everything is the same with…
  • Yes that too. I think adding the weight to the arm adds more to the challenge of maintaining balance. Pudding, that is great!! That means you lost FAT.
  • Did someone ask why single leg dead lifts? For balance and core.
  • Yesterday was my official weigh in. Weighed this am and lost a pound. Yay
  • Stephie, Butt wink? hahahaha I truly do not know what that means. Julie, sorry. Hope you are better soon! Ladies, I need help understand how to interpret Strong Phases, stages, and workouts. Currently, I am on Phase 1 stage 1. I alternate those 2 workouts for four weeks correct? What about Stage 2 workout A/B and Stage 3…
  • YES! Yall know I hate those stinkin step ups! I would love to have a dexascan! Lucky dog, Jo!
  • HI, Ladies!!! Guess what the therapist started today!!! :s Freakin STEP UPS!!! As if I don't get enough of them at the gym LOL. I completed the bird dog today without falling over. MAJOR accomplishment. Plank 60 seconds! woooooooo It didn't take me long to get back to there. I lowered the pushup to a 24 inch table . Right…
  • Jo, 15 seconds per side x 4. Workout 5 tomorrow. Ugh. That means the dreaded step ups
  • Awesome! (I am already dreading tomorrow. My body hurts.) Has anyone tried the Bird Dog yet? Like I said, I can do the plank, bird dog x 4, plank, and then can NOT to save my life do the bird dog again! I fell over on my side yesterday. It was quite embarrassing. :p I'll get over it. I had physical therapy today. The…
  • Alternate sides and hold for 15 seconds x 4.
  • I lifted but I was SORE! The single leg dead lifts have my hamstrings tight! I can do the stinkin bird dog the first time around but the next I can't. I actually fell over on my side ❗️
  • I don't wanna lift today.
  • Stage 1 phase1 workout B done. I am so exhausted. The intervals after lifting are the cause. What have I gotten myself into? Side planks were not a problem . Single leg Romanian deadlifts I can not keep my balance so I place a table in front of me. If I needed to place my fingertips on it to steady my balance which was more…
  • What stage are you on? Lifting 3 times a week? I have a question about the intervals. I am confused. I understand it as 60 seconds of hard work and 2 minutes of "easy" up to six times, correct? But then at another spot in the book, didn't I read intervals are only 10 minutes? Three intervals took me 9 minutes.
  • Hey ladies! Guess what??? I went to the gym today and began Strong! I was able to do a plank for 45 seconds! The bird dog was easy until I got tired then I could not hold my balance. Goblet squats 15 pounds 3 point row 15 pounds Step ups HOW I HATE THEM. No weight due to the hip surgery and just getting back into the…
  • Hey ladies. I am finally weight bearing on the leg but still on restrictions such as: hip flexion and any type of leg lifting. I am looking at another 5 weeks of therapy.
  • 2.5 weeks in recovery and I am going stir crazy! I can't bear weight. Must use crutches. It will be 3 months before I can even begin thinking of light lifting!! Keep lifting , my sweets!
  • Thanks, Sam. I knew you had a lot on your plate. I am happy you are back. You know I am your cheerleader! My plan is to drink a protein shake daily. It will help with healing and hopefully keep me full so I don't crave the carbs. I am drinking one as I type. The sooner the better , right?! ;)
  • Hey ladies. I went to ortho yesterday. I have surgery next Friday to repair labrum tear , shave the bone joint, and remove some floating bone fragments. I will be on crutches 4-6 weeks. No exercise for that time and no lifting for 3-4 months. He said I could work my arms but definitely no leg lifts, squats , lunges .....…
  • I am glad yall got a laugh  But I do hate them. The 12 inch step at my gym is too short but the 18 inch is too high. My knee goes beyond a 90 degree. I asked Alwyn on FB which was better "a shorter step with greater weight or higher step with less weight?" If I am remembering correctly he stated a higher step YUCK!…

I skimmed through the STrong book. Did I tell yall again how much I hate step ups? Well , in case you don't remember and for all you new peeps, I HATE STEP…
  • Dna, celiac? So sorry. My youngest has type 1 diabetes. She is checked yearly for celiac because autoimmune diseases come in pairs. I lifted today. Sorta. Hubs and I poured concrete slab. I lifted 25 bags of quikrete. Each bag weighed 60 lbs. I mixed it with a hoe. So I worked my legs , arms, and shoulders. I am already…
