Action conquers fear, every time. Just get a grip on this, and once you are doing it, your fear will subside. Good luck. Log everything and weigh everything. Never give up. Focus on yourself for now, and you'll get this done.

I so sympathise with you. I used to have this in both feet and it was absolute agony. Since I have lost the weight, it has gone completely. Could you swim or lift weights? I lifted weights because running etc was out of the question. Even though the PF has now gone, I still lift weights. If you have excess weight, I would…

What a sweet post :) I was 194lb last year and obese, and now 140lb. I'm a lot older than you, but please add me if you don't mind a much older gal x x Either way, good luck on your journey :)

50lb lost. Took just over 6 months. (Age 51)

For me, maintenance is about the same as when I was losing weight - everything is the same - diet, exercise etc. the only difference is that I get a few hundred calories a day more to eat. I log everything and weigh everything. I will be doing it for life, because I never want to be fat again. I am working towards strength…

My moment was when I was too fat to get in and out of the bath, yet too physically weak to lift my old Dad off the floor when he fell. I decided to tackle both problems, and one year later, I'm there.

I get it now - you are working 5 straight hrs a day and therefore not entitled to any break at all in UK employment law. Best thing is to prep everything in advance as Kriss suggests. :)

Do your knees hurt?

Hello friend! Been there. In my case, everyone else was also 20 years younger ;) My advice - connect with your colleagues as best you can in this critical early stage Clothes: Black leather jacket, (single-breasted and fitted), gorgeous dark, indigo straight leg jeans, white t-shirt (or tank top if you feel comfortable…

Hi Shelley - you can do it :) I have lost 52lb using this site every day since last summer. Stick with this website and the people here. Read and listen to the people here who have done it. Get some successful friends on here. Log all your food - get some scales. It makes all the difference. There is a lot of expertise…

Thank you - I have never looked into this but I feel it would help me - especially when lifting. I will look into it.

Thank you for your post! I have similar restrictions. I will follow your advice. I am so pleased to hear that you can now do step ups, and I'm sorry to hear about your knee, because I know what it's like. Even when I walk up the stairs, mine crack like someone is opening a packet of potato chips and eating them slowly.

Thank you very much, Jim. That's so useful. Also very useful to hear what size weights you are using. I agree about form. I think I do strange things with my lower body to get the weights moved that I shouldn't be doing, if you know what I mean, just to get it accomplished, when that is not really the point. I think now…

I could never go to a gym. There aren't any near my area, but I wouldn't go even if there was one in my village. You can do stuff at home to get in shape, if you don't feel like going to the gym. It all depends on your lifestyle etc. Good luck on your journey and keep going! No need to feel guilty - just do right by…

Tomatoey - thank you very much! I am going to give all these suggestions a good read and try them. My knees hurt when I bend them. This is all new information to me, so thank you to all of you.

Trailblazin thank you very much! I will look into that - fantastic. Cheshire - Thank you! Great help from you both :)

Congratulations on your weight loss so far! I never have cheat days. I take all foods into account for what I need to maintain the weight loss. The odd time I used to have a giant meal or unhealthy takeaway, I really didn't enjoy it and regretted it afterwards. For me, enjoying life is about never being obese again, and…

Well done :)

Hi! I'm 51. I have lost 52lb. Add me if you would like a friend :)

I am 5'7. I started at 194lb last year, and have now reached goal weight of 140lb. I don't want to lose any more weight as I am trying to build muscle and don't want any more loose skin. I am 51 and do heavy work plus I lift weights. I maintain on about 2000 a day. I am aiming to be muscular and strong, not thin. I have…

I'm with you 100%. It's so very disappointing to continually have these negative comments. The only people who have been positive in my life are lean and fit people. Thank goodness I actuallyknow some - they are rare around here and they counteract the barage of awful comments I get. Today, my neighbour said "Careful with…

You're a beautiful girl, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!

Hi Sam, I'm 51 and from the countryside in Northern England. I have lost 51lb with this website. Add me if I can help.

Come on Monna! You only have one life, and you can do it. Educate yourself about nutrition and exercise. Get some really inspirational people onside. Cut out the dead wood in your life, and ignore the negative people. Do something positive towards your goal every single day. Read the stories here. I was an obese wreck a…

Mailinna - I can totally relate to your issues. I am/was in the same situation. I have found lifting weights and strengthening exercises has helped me a lot. It was not something I ever saw myself doing, or wanted to do, but I feel differently about it now. Do give it a try. I don't lift really heavy weights - 15-25lb…

Thank you for the FR and your very kind comments. Losing weight is the thing that helped me most. i couldn't exercise until I dropped 40lb. In fact, I couldn't get up the stairs myself or get into the bath, so exercise was just not going to happen. Main thing is to get nutrition as good as you can, and keep the calories to…
