  • I am the same as you. Sometimes I just want a bigger portion for dinner or a larger snack! I keep raw veggies around for snacks. I also bought an air popper for popcorn. I can have a big bowl of that in the evening for few calories! I also go heavy on the vegetables at dinner to fill my plate. I like variety- roasted…
  • To munch on: popcorn Something to ease hunger until next meal: jerky, greek yogurt Sweet: I found some really good fudge bars that are 100 or 120 cals
  • I have the same issue..I am always over with my sugars even on days that I rock at everything else. I believe it calculates an unreasonably low number for the amount of sugar we should aim to have for the day. If you do a search you will probably find numerous threads about this. Unless you have a health issue (in which…
  • I also do eggs in a muffin tin. I typically keep it simple and beat eggs and add veggies and bake. This weekend I did something a little fancier: I placed parchment muffin papers in each tin and then added half a slice of turkey, 1 tbsp of salsa, and eggs that i beat up with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. I baked them at…

  • I love sweets and struggle with this. I keep skinny cow ice cream bars and find those really satisfying. Lately I have also been enjoying hot chocolate (made with skim milk) which also helps my cravings since you can sip on it for a while. In the summer I like frozen mangoes a lot.
  • Just made this and loved it! I highly suggest it. Would also be good with chicken. Thanks for the suggestion!
  • I suggest keeping around healthy snacks (pack them or buy some when you arrive). I find that I make my poorest food choices when I'm tired and hungry. By having some healthy portable snacks, I find that I am able to make better choices when it comes to lunch or dinner out.
  • When I cheat, it is typically during a meal out. I still try to order a healthier option and stop eating when I'm full, but I definitely consume more than I need to. Sometimes I will cheat at a party as well. My cheats usually involve me being health conscious, but I let loose a little and do not necessarily track every…
  • I eat back about half of the adjustments. I leave the other half for user error and those days that I overeat.
  • I am in! I typically average about 7-8,000 steps a day without trying. I think pushing myself to have an extra walk will be great. 9/2/15: 11,219
  • So far I have been sticking to outdoors and home workouts. I primarily walk outdoors. I live near a lake that has a wonderful path and the weather is mild here throughout the year. I do mostly yoga and some strength training at home. I use to really like gyms for their classes, but where I live gym memberships/classes are…
  • Rachael Rays vegetable chili- a couple fresh peppers, 1 onion, 1 can black beans, 1 can kidney beans, 1 can retried beans, 1 can crushed tomatoes. Then you have to add some seasonings. Very easy to make, offers quite a few servings, fairly healthy, and cheap. I also really like eggs. They are a bit pricey currently but…
  • I enjoyed blue apron, but not enough to continue. I would get it for 1-2 weeks/month for about 6 months. It was a great way to try recipes I wouldn't think of. But, I found it to be repetitive and expensive. Also the meals took me closer to 45 min to make than the 30 they'd say. I would do it if I didn't have time to…
  • I eat skinny cow ice cream treats. They are typically under 200 cals. Probably not low carb but they do wonders for keeping my sweet tooth in line.
  • I wouldn't worry too much. I have averaged 3-4 lbs per month with the goal to lose 1 lb/week. With time you'll get better and more use to the change. There will be months with higher weight loss and others with lower. Just try to see the whole picture. Keep it up!
  • I'm in Oakland!
  • I look forward to seeing everyone's replies, as these hacks will likely be very useful for the day to day. I would probably focus on trying to keep breakfast and lunch packed and eating dinner out by eating at places that have their nutritional information available. I would pack cheese, crackers, hard boiled egg, fruit,…
  • I do not do any extra exercising and have managed to lose weight. I do do a lot of walking in my regular day, averaging 10,000 steps/day. This lets me eat more than if I only walked 4,000 steps. I do like this, because I do not feel quite a restricted with my diet, as it adds a decent number of calories. This allows me an…
  • Snacking has been a big problem for me, mostly because I love snacking on junk food at night. What I have done to make this so it is not so problematic is eat my dinner a little later, save some calories for a snack, and often I drink hot tea or a hot chocolate. Since you sip on it, it makes me feel as though I am…
  • My biggest cravings are usually for chocolate or sweets. I have found hot chocolate very helpful in feeding this craving without overeating.
  • There is a problem with some servers being Overloaded I think on MFP side. They put out a post about it somewhere on here saying it should all be better by morning. They also recommended not disconnecting and reconnecting so the servers can work it out.
  • I feel ya. The easiest thing for me to do is keep very little junk food and lots of healthy snacks in the house. I typically have a day or two that I eat at maintenance as well.
  • Tomorrow I'm having a salad in a mason jar. I wouldn't call it quick or super easy but I make a few at a time. Mine has lettuce, chicken breast grilled in spices, hard boiled egg, cucumber, grape tomatoes, a bit of dressing and shredded cheese. Comes out to about 400 calories and tasty. I usually take leftovers from…
  • I eat things in moderation. I'm currently enjoying a cup of hot chocolate! What I have noticed since I started being healthier and losing weight that I crave much less junk, making it easier to eat cleaner.
  • I weigh myself once a week, first thing in the morning after using the loo. Usually Thursday or Friday morning. I occasionally check in throughout the week but only take the once a wk check in seriously.
  • I typically crave sweets in the afternoon at work so I keepsome fancier hard candies around and allow myself 1 or 2. I haven't quite figured out what to do in the evenings yet.
  • I have started buying things that are pre cut at the grocery store (fruit, veggies) when they are running a good deal. I eat Greek yogurt, granola, and berries in a small mason jar every morning. I prepare them all at once on Sunday. I do the same with snacks and sometimes dinner ingredients.
  • Very doable! I don't exercise often but am fairly active since there is a lot of walking in my daily life. When I do exercise I enjoy being able to eat more.
  • 9....hoping to get that down to 8. I like to snack at night so hoping to scale back!
  • 1) Being uncomfortable in a lot of clothes/ hard to shop 2) Working up a sweat quicker than most. 3) Things just seem slightly more difficult to do with excess weight.
