Agree with the above poster. You need to make a lifestyle change oriented toward good health and physical fitness. Move more and eat less is a good motto.

Alkaline foods! Drink dark leafy green fresh vegetable juices.

It is very relaxing indeed. I don't personally carry a radio or cd player, just think about things and enjoy the scenery. I did a couple mile on some railroad tracks today and it was challenging, especially going over a couple railroad tie bridges.

My dogs can't make it probably longer than a couple KM. Short legs lol

Right on. Yeah, I realize that posting this type of question is like opening up Pandora's box, but I was basically just trying to find out that if lifting is even worth it if I am only trying to burn fat. From what I have read it helps to speed up the metabolism far after the actually exercise has been completed. I guess…

I am a mason labor for a living, lift block and stone all day. Not really fat man. Thus the question in the thread. Once again, don't want to gain mass but no one has really answered the question. Maybe I'll just keep up the cardio. Peace.

I am betting cardio more than anything. That is what I have been doing mostly anyways with good results. Maybe I shouldn't even lift for goals are just to speed up metabolism.

I am 6 ft 5 300 pounds. I have pretty big biceps already, probably bigger than you.
-
Hah. That's what I was wondering also. In high school we were taught that high reps low weight builds lean muscle while low reps high weight puts on mass.
-
Yes! That's what I am trying avoid is huge biceps and whatnot. If you ever saw the actor Aaron Eckart that is what I am talking about. Ripped but not bulky.
-
Ok, I think what you are saying here is that: extra calories above BMI + lifting = gaining muscle mass calories below BMI + lifting = lean look?
-
I am trying to burn fat as quickly as possible and maintain my current amount. Hopefully that makes sense.

How long have you been working out and watching your food intake?

Drug counselor. Haha. That is a good one. A person who counsels in something they have no first hand experience in. How many of your personal friends have ODed on the same drugs this girl is messing with? I would bet zero. But how much have you profited monetarily due to the addictions and demons of others? I would bet a…

I am a former addict so i can say this. Cut the crap. If you want to live, stop doing drugs. If you want to die, then keep on doing them. It's quite simple. Cold turkey and never look back. You are the only one who can help you.

Of course it is enough. It is obviously working. Perhaps you are overestimating your calories burnt during workouts. Maybe invest in a hear rate monitor to get a more accurate count.

The best way to avoid binges is to not buy the junk in the first place. There have been a couple times here lately where I will use the restroom downstairs and more or less sleepwalk to the kitchen to grab some pop tarts. lol. Luckily there are no more in the house now.

Personally, I don't even work out to improve my appearance, just to get more healthy. Since working out and eating right I have cured my asthma, sleep apnea, stomach issue, high blood pressure, etc. The looks are just a nice byproduct of the process. Many benefits of fitness, in fact the most important ones, are not…

Well you won't undo many years of unhealthy living quickly. In fact, it may take just as long to undo the abuse you did to your body. That is why I constantly remind myself that fitness is a process and not a destination.

In the morning. Get it done and over with!
