Strava doesn't track it either. FWIW.

Turbo is easier. I'd hire one before you buy tbh. Training indoors is so boring.

The post that wouldn't die. And still so true.

I'm interested in how this works out as I'm in exactly the same position. I've been losing steadily over the weeks but have come to a standstill. MFP re-evaluated my daily calories down from 2150 to 2070 and I've stopped losing weight. I do wonder if I'm over training as I find it impossible to eat back the calories I'm…

I've sent friend requests to a few people so far. This worked quite well with the Garmin Group so I'm sure your friends list will be bulging pretty soon :) :)

You'll love it. I do most of my running alone and it's so nice to sometimes run with other people. Just run your own pace. Sure you will do fine..

Hello. Thanks for the replies. I didn't realise this was part of the program. I thought I'd broken something. Will leave it as it is. :)

Total non runner about 10 months ago until I finished the c25k. When I was happy running 5K i just went for it to see if I could. I was slow but I did it. I do a 10k every week now as my start to the weeks running. Maybe give it a go and if it doesn't work out then just add a mile to one of your 5k runs every couple of…

You can't save everyone. A really good friend told me once "You don't have a cape or wear your undies over your pants" Now I just temper my own frustrations by offering advice and support once. I can't make anyone do anything they don't want to do. They need to decide. If they do then I am with them 100%

Why not try? What's the worse that can happen? I would love to try Triathlon but my swimming is hopeless. I'd drown simple as and I can't stand cold water. So guess the worse thing for me is that i would drown.

Hello. I'm sure you will achieve your goal.

Using Bolt was just an example of a big muscular sprinter. I have no idea what he weighs but I am curious as to what his distance times would be. Would a sprinter even bother to run a mile for example. I have no idea how a sprinter even trains.

Sorry double post.

I'm on Garmin Connect and it seems to be working ok. The news item thing that it posts can be a little out of whack but the exercise calories seem to be ok. Use my Garmin for running and cycling. I also upload to Strava as that's what my mates use. I'm using the Forerunner 310xt. Not sure if this makes any difference. I…

Really struggled with morning rides or runs. Just felt like I had no energy. I've persevered tho and now they aren't too bad. Just be prepared to take a hit when you first start.

Thanks to everyone who has replied so far. Some very interesting comments. I'm primarily a cyclist who wanted to have a go at running. I'm big legged, toned muscular from a lot of time in the saddle etc. Just got a death ring around my middle which I'm starting to get rid off (Looking back I was training my *kitten* off…

I use a Garmin Device. It has a virtual partner that I've been gradually speeding up. Gives me something to aim for.

Well I suppose, but I guess the sprinters are in their own little bubble of existence. All the distance runners are tiny. I do wonder what Usain Bolt's 5 and 10K times are.
-
That's great. So what you're saying is that you can get fit enough to run faster and still be pretty big. I've started doing 5k races and all the guys who win are tiny. I don't want to be tiny.

Hi. Thanks for replying. My goal when I was doing c25k was also just to finish it. The mistake I made was not using MFP and eating all the calories back. Since I've stopped doing that the weight has started to come off. I'm sure you will reach your target time.

You need to find some hills. The steeper the better.

My Calories are usually higher with Strava too. However, I do most of my exercise through Garmin and upload data to Strava because thats what my mates use. I use the Garmin data because of the HRM.

There's loads of us now. Feel free to add me. I love looking at other peoples maps.

Don't worry about the zombies. They eat the slobs on the couch first. You are no longer on the couch you are making an effort. Keep going. You can do it. At the moment your body is not used to it. That is all. Everyone goes through this. It will get better.

You need to think about what you want to do longer term. I use a Garmin. I run, bike etc and they have loads of little extras that you can add to whatever exercise you're doing. I have a foot pod, hrm and have just bought a cadence sensor for my bike. So I'd research both devices and see what you can add to them later.…

my ex fat legs are full of em lol. I just wear them like battle scars.
