Did you start back in 2017 or is that a typo? Regardless, very good work! Especially if in 7 months.

That broth idea is great! I've done something similar by tossing a bullion cube into a cup of boiling water and sipped that while snacking on a couple celery stalks. Definitively can bridge the gap between meals, especially if you crave something savory instead of sweet! Also, very nice watercolor! I think you have some…

Welcome!

Welcome and good luck! The program works if you stick to it! I dropped 65lbs in a year back in 2014-15 using MFP only to slowly gain it back by 2020 after NOT using the app for 5 years. Rejoined today! So I'm sure you will have success if you log everything and stick to the calorie deficit. Just don't stop being careful…

Welcome! I rejoined myself here today hoping to repeat past success with MFP. It works if you stick with it!

After using them for a season, you won't even have to think about it at all. It may feel weird to be disconnected from the bike if you try a flat pedal years later :) But as mtb000mtb points out, it really boils down to what you like. I have to say that personally, I really like clipless for both MTB and road. GCN has a…

I almost bought this same sensor kit last week for my "nice" bike, but saw your post and will hold off on it (aha).

* 3000 miles or more (last year I had about 2,200) * Lots more climbing -- at least over 100K * Indoor trainer to prep for early Spring * Lose the bit of holiday weight I put on recently --I'm about 204 and want to get to 188lbs, which is lean enough for a guy my height * Try to win back a couple of long Strava segment…

I haven't owned many cycles over my lifetime, but here goes...it is a short one, and the only repeat is black! * Red tricycle from when I was maybe 3 years old. I got it for Christmas and had to ride it even though there was two feet of snow outside. My Dad obliged tho! * Orange Chopper-style bike with banana seat bike…

thanks TBY, that may work. I'll look into getting a receiver for that on my TV since it isn't a Smart TV.

Got a tech question for ye Zwifties... So, I use my work laptop with Zwift as it has enough horsepower (i7, 8GB, decent GPU) to run the program. I plan to be building a new desktop in my home office soon. However the TV room in the basement is where I use my bike trainer, and I just hooked the work laptop up in there. So,…

Welcome Wendy and Jean!

nice shots Jackson. Looks like a peaceful place to ride.
-
so how will training actually work? What would be nice is, in addition to specific courses with appropriate terrain, you get a virtual riding partner that will pace you to your goals.
-
Ha, the same happens to me. I only use Zwift occasionally, but when I do*, it it hard to resist trying to keep up with a group, or maybe beat my last time up a hill, or try to obtain a jersey for a brief time. * hmmm.. Dos Equis guy?

I'm going off this info, which resolved it for me: https://support.zwift.com/hc/en-us/articles/204865785-Zwift-Mobile-Link-app-only-shows-Remote-Access- If you still have the prob, then I am not sure what it is, if everything is up to date on the latest version.

Mostly cutting out late night snacks (it was practically a 4th meal for me) really helped me get to my goal. But once in a while, I'll have a little something anyway, especially on days when I have extra exercise calories to spend. Dammit food, why do you have to taste so good :(
-
Well, I can help you there, I've been using Zwift on and off again for a good chunk of the beta. This happened to me all the time until someone set me straight...and if things have not changed, this should fix it: Basically, both your computer AND your cell phone need to be using the same wireless network simultaneously.…

nice writeup m1, I enjoyed it.

^^ For a minute, I thought the front tire rubber was in flames! Gah!

Sadly maybe we need a doped / never-doped categorization -- if it is even possible to sort that out.

I had to research it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honey_locust I thought this was real interesting, "These thorns are thought to have evolved to protect the trees from browsing Pleistocene megafauna which may also have been involved in seed dispersal, but the size and spacing of them is useless in defending against…

Those are the most horrible looking thorns I have ever seen. At first I thought they were some kind of man-made spikes. Even bears would give those some respect :)
