The ultimate goal of all of us being here is to lose weight the right way. That being said, if restricting yourself to 1,000 calories makes your life unnaturally difficult (in that you are making sure that slice of bread is 80 calories as opposed to 85 because EVERY calorie HAS to count) then I don't think you should.…

I can gain 0.5-1 inch in my waist just from waking up in the morning and having a big breakfast/lunch. Seriously, don't worry about it.

^^This, patience. You may lose quickly at first without a big visual difference. My experience? I lost ~20lbs before I noticed I could comfortably go down a jean size. Keep up the hard work! :)

Going on 13 months with the man I met online. :)

Navy girlfriend :) my sailor is deploying to the middle east in march for ~8 months. feel free to add me as well, would love to have/give support!

WHAT! Wow! This is so interesting. Really makes me re-think my diet cokes I usually save for lunch. :(

I LOVE how SO's can be so encouraging! Mine's across the country, but I'll send him progress pictures every once in a while, and his "Wow"s and "you look hot, babe" are sometimes EXACTLY what I need to kick my butt back into shape for the rest of the day/week/month. Way to go, you!! :) So exciting!

"NSV" is a non-scale victory. ;) Keep working through that plateau! Change your diet/workout routine up if you need to. It's just something your body does, so kick its butt and show it who's boss.

At restaurants I go safe and order an appetizer and a salad. Entrees these days will run upwards around 800-1500 cals easily, and you wouldn't ever guess it! As for fast foods I avoid burger joints and try to find like a Chick-Fil-A (chargrilled chicken sandwich is only 290 cals!) for grilled options; even a burrito bowl…

Honestly, I don't know exactly what did it. I think it was introducing strength training. I was strictly doing 30 minutes of cardio (elliptical) 3 or 4 days a week, then plateaued. When I researched about it there was a lot about either (1) increasing your food intake to mess with your body's metabolism, or (2) increase…

I feel the same way!! I HATE being called out or the center of attention. I went to visit my parents the other day and my mom walked in and just shouted, "Well look at YOU skinny girl!" UGHH! Haha. I know she means well, but still. I'm still a woman, and it's still my weight we're talking about... or rather…

My boyfriend mentioned over the phone that he felt like he was gaining weight and "getting fat." The man is 6 feet tall and 145 pounds. Something about me (being 5'4" and 175lbs at the time) NOT feeling like I was overweight was just wrong from that point on. Here I am 4 months and -18lbs later! :)
-
I've been keeping my calories to 1200-1400 per day. I do exercise about 4 days per week for about an hour, usually just the elliptical but I started incorporating strength training moreso recently. I don't think its anything too radical.

My boyfriend is deployed overseas and I haven't seen him since March, won't see him until September. I want his jaw to drop when he sees me for the first time! ;)
