  • I delivered my second child and my weight was 249. My dad weighs 350lbs, my whole life I have been told I'm just like him. I knew if I didn't take care of my weight issues now I would be fighting them for the rest of my life like he is. I also knew I didn't want my husband to have all the fun. I wanted to go sledding and…
  • I am 5'6" and at 160... I am currently wearing a size 8, the smallest size ever, I carry my weight in my hips so size 2 is not a goal of mine, it's all about what is right for your body :flowerforyou:
  • You burn more calories in one workout then you are supposed to eat in a day, AND you still feel good.
  • Im going to keep bumping this today, I think it is a great way to remember someone... Yes I run with headphones, the other day I was making a new playlist for a class I teach, I had my headphones on at my computer, that way I could get the feel of the music without bothering anyone. The phone rang 4 feet behind me, my…
  • Shameless Bump to get as many people on board as possible.
  • I'm really glad to see so many responding to this, I live out in the country and this is a huge fear for me. Run safe everyone.
  • For me it was much simpler, I did not know how to cook for 2. When I was alone, I just cooked enough for me when I was hungry, but when I got married I felt like I should make nice dinners for us. When I cooked some of my favorite recipes I didn't know how to cut them down from feeding my family of 6 where I grew up and…
  • Congrats!!! That is great to hear keep up the great work :)))
  • A long hard run.
  • Yes we are going to run a marathon this fall. Don't worry, we are going to train and be prepared. Keep it together!
  • I work at a gym, you will not be judged by the people who are there to help you. If you feel like you are find a new gym! I live in the middle of farm country and there are 4 gyms within a 20 min drive from me. Take a tour of all the ones that are in you budget. Take a look at what they have to offer and take a look at the…
  • I'm in the same boat. I have a half in May as well, and have been keeping my long runs in the 6-7 mile range over the winter. I'm not a beginner, I ran a half in October, but I suffered a foot injury so lost a lot of the progress I made. My time last fall was 2:07 so my goal is to get in under 2:00. Anyway, lol I will do…
  • It has pretty much been said. Find a training program that you are comfortable with. Make sure you are adding miles slowly to avoid injury. Hal Higdon and Jeff Galloway have great programs. I do my own special mix of the two of them lol. I also suggest finding a partner who has done the distance before to help you with…
  • I started running at 225lbs in the spring of 2009. There have been many times that I wanted to quit. When I first started out and I would come home crying because I could barely run/ walk the 2 mile block by my house. This past summer when I was sure I had gotten in way over my head signing up to run a half marathon. I…
  • I was over 200lbs when I started running, I bought shoe inserts to help protect my knees. If you have issues with your joints the elliptical is a nice low impact alternative to running.
  • HAHAHA as a person who works in a gym as well as someone who works out in one, these are ALL TRUE. I would just like to add that If you walk 20 minutes on the treadmill and then drink a Gatorade it doesn't mean you had a good workout, it means you are drinking back any calories you burned and then some.
  • I have done a few of her workouts and they are tough. I would count it as a strength training workout, because of the nature of her workouts, they seem to average about 20 min so it you wanted to add some cardio that would probably be ok. Don't be fooled my the shortness of these workouts, the ones that I did were intense.…
  • Love IT!
  • I cross train a LOT because I teach classes during the week. It has helped me quite a bit especially during times that I can not run do to injury I am not set back like I would be if I just stopped. Here is an average week: Sunday- long run Monday - cycling and trx workout Tuesday- speed runs Wednesday- Strength and…
  • My husband has a physically demanding job, so when he came home I would want to go for a walk or something because I have been cooped up with the short people all day and he wanted to relax. I discovered that I had to do it with or without him. I started running on my own and embraced that I couldn't force him to come with…
  • Running is my passion but I do a lot of cross training. I teach a cycling class 3 days a week and a strength training class 2 days a week. When I was injured I started doing the BodyRock workouts. More recently I started doing work with TRX bands.
  • Wow, I just got home from the gym and I love all the responses. I'm very happy to see that I'm not alone. Part of it is the mental, running especially is a huge stress reliever for me so when I can't run I feel like I can't get my stress out in a healthy way. For me the other part is missing the calories lol. I eat my…
  • 228 not including highest pregnancy weight
  • I don't log my food every day because I know what I'm eating everyday, and I pretty much eat the same ting every day. I also use an HRM every day when I work out so I know how many calories I am burning. I like the forums andI like to support my friends and if I am in a rough patch I will log for a week or two to get back…
  • Im the short one with curly hair :)
  • I teach a TRX class at my gym, and I am loving them. They are totally versatile and can be adapted to most fitness levels. I have only been using them for less than a month so haven't really seen any specific results but my body feels stronger after working out with these bands. I would ask to audit a class and see how you…

  • I think woman's bodies are beautiful and sexy. My girlfriend is a zumba instructor and has killer abs and I tell her so often. I tech cycling and I run, and have been told,, by other ladies that I have a nice @ss even though I hate it. LOL its woman nature to admire other women. :)
  • I pretty much accept all requests, but I have started to delete people who have been gone for more than a month, or if they say something that is totally off base with my goals or fitness beliefs. I havent had it happen but I would have no problem deleting someone who was nasty or negative all the time.
