Hello one and all  .....I'm Mandy and another 54 year old female. I'm trying to loose another 14lbs and maybe some more, as I'd really like to be a comfortable UK size 12. At the moment my size 16s are getting a little loose and the 14s are still a little tight. I'm also working up to doing a 100km (62 mile) charity…

Yep, 15kg in 4mths, should be doable. I've lost abt 13kg in just over 2mths. All I've done is reduce calories and walk. No gym or eating strange things. I've tried to cut out the junk and useless calories and eat healthy.

How about weighing something of a known weight on your home scales and see how accurate they are? I'm thinking several bags of sugar perhaps or flour, although if you're like me, you'll only have 1 of each in the house and half empty!

Thanks for that link. You're right, when I'm hiking I'm on uneven ground and yes there are hills, and stiles/fences to climb over. When walking it is generally flat and even, so yes I can see how hiking would burn more. It's just walking the streets is a bit boring compared to being out in the countryside with all the…

I'm not sure how accurate MFP is when it comes to calories burned. This afternoon I walked 10.5 miles in 3hrs around the streets, which is 3.5mph and which MFP says I've burned 803 calories. However, according to MFP if I had hiked for 3hrs, I would have burned 1,267 calories. To me walking is just in light shoes, on…

A friend took a photo of me in April and I was horrified....who was that fat person, yikes, it was me. I lost about 5lbs before finding my way to MFP, and since 1 June, I've been mainly good.

I'm on the Sussex coast. I joined MFP on 1 June and am good most days at keeping to my 1200 calories. I also walk as my main form of exercise.

I've lost 27lbs in 2 months by watching the calories and walking. Just over 2 months ago I found walking 10 miles in one go very hard. I can now walk 20 miles in 8-9hrs with no problems, other than being a bit tired at the end. I also walk around the block, which is half a mile and I do that several times a day. My 10+…

I'm just eating less and moving more :)

I'm 5'4" and started at 183lbs.....sorry no pictures, yet. CW 158lbs and GW 140lbs, although I might try for about 133lbs. I've also dropped 2 dress sizes.

I just try to keep busy with chores and if I really feel hungry, I go for a walk round the block. I guess it's about not giving in to any cravings and reminding ourselves why we want to loose the weight. Keep strong :)

Hi Sarah, I'm also 5'4" with a GW of 140lbs, starting from 183lbs. In 55 days I've lost 24lbs, mainly by watching what I eat and walking. I roughly plan my eating day in the morning, but some days go to pot, which I don't stress over too much, as there are also days when I don't eat the 1200 calories MFP says I should. As…

I'm 54 and have lost 20lbs in 45 days and don't have any loose skin. Pilates is great for getting the core muscles working and trimming the tummy, but it takes daily practice to slowly build those muscles.

Age 54 Height 5'4" SW 183lbs Start measurements 45 - 37.5 - 44 (sort of UK size 18-20) CW 164lbs Current measurements 41.5 - 33 - 41 (sort of UK size 16) GW 140lb I would love to be a comfortable UK size 12 which is about 36 - 29 - 38, so might have to loose a bit more once I get to 140lbs.

Hi Lorriane and good luck on your new journey to a lighter life. There will be tough days, but keep focused and you will be rewarded by feeling so much better in yourself....Mandy

I've lost 14lbs in a month, by roughly sticking to 1200 calories per day (sometimes over coz of meals out), plus I walk at least 3 miles every day and the most being 15 miles in a day. But reckon over the month I've averaged about 5-6 miles per day. So walking has helped me. It has also given me more energy to be more…

I go for a walk around the block and that reminds me I need to loose the weight :)

I joined MFP 2 weeks ago on June 1, because the day before I was out hiking with friends and I found it hard going, carrying about 40-50lbs more than I should. And that's all it took to get me eating less and exercising more. My exercise is mainly walking and I try to walk 3 miles every morning and another 3 in the…

I joined MFP on 1 June and so far I've walked 18 miles (4, 5, 4, 5) - my goal is to do 120 miles this month.
