  • So it's day 3 and the Arms and Shoulders dvd skipped out on us!!! I was so disappointed since we were only about 15 minutes into it... Anyway, we decided to do each of the workouts that we could figure out through googling them or through lifts we had done in the past and got about 6 of them and just did extra sets of each…

  • So this seems to be mostly ladies sharing their P90x experiences but I thought I'd chime in and share! So I convinced my 3 roommates to start the program with me last night...after about 2 hours at work this morning I had received the following texts from them... a) "I'm at work and it hurts so much to type and use the…

  • Sorry for the incorrect analysis up top by the way! This is exactly what I'd hoped for out of the thread though :)
  • Thanks!...I wasn't aware that there were different cuts of ground turkey as I've only ever noticed one type of package in the store next to about (what seems like) 12 different packages of beef... However, Here are stats from the database on 93/7 Lean Turkey... Calories 160 Sodium 85 mg Total Fat 8 g Potassium 0 mg…
  • Nothing too hardcore with regards to working out! I try to use the wii fit on occasion (to do rigorous core exercises, not the silly games) or go for a walk or run when I can but the weather in the North East has been keeping me in lately  Most of it is definitely attributed to diet!
  • OH and McDonald's has a Classic Grilled Chicken sandwich that's only 370 if you order it without mayo! As a suggestion, type in McDonald's in the food database and start clicking "Nutritional Info" on potential meals and check the calorie count...remember also that a lot of their sandwiches include mayo so you may be able…
  • McDonald's Southwest Salad with GRILLED Chicken is only 320 calories! Also, if the supermarket has a decent selection of smart ones, lean cuisines, etc they're not too bad for quick/cheap lunches! (I usually eat a few a week)
  • This happens to me as well! I'm not sure of the scientific cause behind it but after chatting with people I know who are on weight watchers or other similar programs, I know that it seems to be a normality. I've had 3+ pound deficits in a week and even a 1lb gain without TOO much fluctuation in my eating/exercise habits!…
  • Welcome! There's a ton of support and information here if you take the time to look :)
  • The reason that MFP creates a pre-set deficit for you is that it calculates your BMI, your "lifestyle" (sedentary, active, etc) and figures out roughly how many calories you burn in a day all behind the scenes. Then, in order to get you to lose about 2 lbs per week on average, it calculates out a 7000 calorie deficit per…
  • @allislefttogain and @dmags...gotta enjoy the Boston love on MFP!
  • haha, I'm glad to see the love for pizza! Yeah, the cheese fries really didn't need to happen but my friends got them and I wasn't about to say no... @allislefttogain...Kelly's Roast Beef? Are you from the Boston area? I am but I've never actually eaten there...are you saying that the day after my diet ends Kelly's Cheese…
  • I love what you're doing teaching him calories. I'm a very math oriented person so now that I know how many calories I burn in a day and how many calories are in one pound of fat (3,500 for those of you that haven't found it yet) it has become very easy to turn weight loss into a math problem and realize achievable goals.…
  • Now that I'm out of school I don't get to see as much of my friends so when we threw a party for everyone last weekend I had one (slightly intoxicated) friend tackle me into a couch tickling me and repeating "you're so skinnyyyyyy." That one felt good! haha
  • I won't try to tackle women's sizes but I know that for some people there's a minimum shirt size you'll ever get to. For instance, I don't expect to ever wear a medium again (even after getting back to my goal weight) nor do I expect to fall below a 46R Jacket size. There's a point where you just don't gain/lose weight in…
  • Wow, thanks for the responses everyone! It definitely seems like the recurring theme here is protein so maybe I need to stop "saving calories" for later in the day and have an egg with toast or even an english muffin with egg sandwich or something before I leave for work in the morning then save the fruit cup for a snack…
  • I always plan out my meals to leave myself about 200 calories under my self-enforced limit so when I really want to have my favorite candy bar (pb cups) i don't feel bad picking one up on the way home! Sure, it adds some fat and other things to your diet but I'm focusing mainly on calories so I can snack a day or two a…
