  • Come on guys, read the message properly. I cannot do anything at all this week because of other things going on but when I can start the exercise, I will do as Joan says. Do as much as you comfortably can and build it up gradually. You are in charge of this. Joan is just guiding and recording what we say we have done.…
  • I owe for two days now :frown: I'm having work done on the house this week and cannot find space or time to fit this in. Will catch up over the Easter weekend hopefully
  • Nice one!
  • Today, I did not do the W1D1 challenge. However, I have done two hours of gardening: first outing of the year - the grass was about 6" tall and now is not! The vegetable garden has been dug over, as have the flower beds. It took me two hours. Then, I joined my daughter and grandchildren on an outing to the park. We walked…
  • The water and food I generally achieve but I will have to get myself a pedometer.
  • Starting weight: 206lbs (Jan 2010) Challenge starting weight: 176lbs (14/04/14) 40-week goal weight: 136lbs (02/02/15?) This feels good - not quite ready to share my vitals with you though!
  • Good morning all, from the sunny UK. I am returning to MFP after losing a lot of weight and putting half of it back on again. I turned 56 last Saturday and am conscious that if I don't reduce my weight, I am opening myself up to all sort of medical problems as I age. I need motivation - I joined a gym last November and…
  • I never got beyond L1 last time I tried this, so really looking forward to starting on the 1st.

  • I've dropped out for a while and desperately need you guys to get myself back on track again. I'll start on 1st December and will post my measurements then. Good luck everyone!
  • whoa! you look amazing and that must have been so difficult. Congratulations! I am in awe.
  • Amazing ... but in all your stats, I couldn't see you saying just how much younger you look having lost the weight. Congratulations! :flowerforyou:
  • Are you an Aries? Great starter, lousy finisher! Me too. Just take it one day at a time. Don't beat yourself up if you have one bad day. Just get on board the next day. You can do it. So can I. Good luck!
  • Hello. I'm from UK too (Cheshire). I gave up smoking in 2000 (cold turkey). Since then, I gained more than 3 stone, have gone through menopause and just about everything that being a single parent of three can throw at you. I now feel I am coming out through the other end of the tunnel (which was elongated by becoming the…
  • I so agree with you! Lesson learned ... don't eat what you don't like, as you will never enjoy it
  • Hello Gail - I'm in Cheshire. My weight gain was stress and menopause. Thankfully I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel.
  • I will also be totally happy to lose "the boobage"!
  • I'm a totally small woman (5' 1-1/2") wearing a size 40DD bra. I find Tesco sizes a bit small in all their ranges. I wear a Shock Absorber for my jogging and although it squishes me together, it is totally comfortable.
  • I would suggest that you google 'couch to 5k'. That's what a lot of us on here start with. Good luck with it ... and enjoy!
  • The cup size is wrong for me - I've definitely dropped from an E cup to a DD
  • Brilliant post Geoff. Thank you
  • I echo everything said about C25k. I will start on the Week 2 running tomorrow - I have done the Week 1 jogs for 7 days in total. The feeling of success to achieve the 8 mins of jogging the first time is difficult to describe. Go for it!
  • Thanks to the last person who brought your message back to the recent posts forum - I joined MFP after your initial post. A very big thanks to you for a well-written and informative explanation of what we all are looking to achieve by joining this site - a lifestyle change that will lead to a healthy life for many years to…
  • Download from http://runningintoshape.com/ and stop feeling sorry for yourself. There are always other people worse off then yourself.
  • Can I also suggest another web site - Running into Shape dot com - you will be able to download a podcast that tells you when to jog and when to walk. This is so much easier to listen to than to try and gauge it for yourself. The web site's author is also quite inspirational and her blog is well worth a read. Good luck!

  • Hi. I started C25K this week. If I was you, I wouldn't stipulate a time frame on which to change to the next level. Start and do Week 1 until to can achieve that week's goal comfortably BEFORE you move on to the next level. I don't have as much to lose as you ("only" about 50lbs) but although I managed to complete all but…

  • I think we all have one of those stories. I still like gin ... I can't drink vodka! :drinker:
  • Good morning! Try this site: http://glutenfreegoddess.blogspot.com/
  • Oh! A woodlouse. Silly me!!
  • Jillatha, Thank you SO MUCH for posting these photos. I have always wondered what would happen to the stretched skin over my stomach, should I lose my own excess weight. Although you still have a small problem with the excess, you do say that the skin is "tightening all the time" and that gives me heart to continue to the…
