  • I'm in the middle of my weight loss and I'm noticing this. I still serve myself my old portion sizes, but a lot of times I don't finish them. Even when I have the calories, and I'm reaching the point where I refuse to waste my calories on crappy food. Like your dry cupcakes, nope. If it's not worth it I won't eat it, most…
  • @drissler1967 I took this photo on my phone, but the experience is simikar on the website. Look above the box to type your reply in. See those small icons? See the one on the far right? It looks like a picture of a mountain with a dot over it? Tap/click that and then follow the prompts. You'll probably want to upload a…
  • Thanks y'all! I am pleased as punch to have accomplished so much. I hope to be as successful this year as I was last year.
  • I think I'll switch to Sara Lee bread then. I know it's available here. I'll try adding the garlic powder on the inside of the bread too. Probably less messy to eat that way too. Ah. I'm in the US. No Superstore here. I do buy store brand American cheese (I prefer cheddar, but American melts better in grilled cheeses for…
  • Me? Not yet. I just started therapy again to deal with self-sabotage issues RE: weight and she gave me a mindfulness medication app to use daily. I am told it will help.
  • I eat like *kitten*. I eat pizza once a week. The whole pizza, then nothing else for the day. I eat nothing but cookies all day. I drink like 10 liters of Diet Coke of a week if I let myself. I eat hardly any veggies (I'm challenging myself next month to change that, I want to eat better). I am the person that everyone…
  • Not everyone will react the same way to a drug (everyone knows that), even though a drug is supposed to be weight neutral someone can still gain from it. A quick Google found a few people who said they gained after being put on it too, or that they couldn't lose. I'm losing on it, but I (and many others) gained on Abilify…
  • Well first of all, if you never refuse hugs, have one on me. *hug* I like giving out hugs. Second, OMG I am so jealous of that guy. I take sleeping pills to fall asleep in a reasonable time frame and wake up at a reasonable hour. And I often still need a nap!
  • That's the best part of diet Coke. *classy*
  • 5'7 When I had a BMI of 48 (307 pounds) I was in a 30 (still wearing 28s, but they were very stretchy elastic. My 28 tops were all too small). My BMI is now 38.9 (249 pounds) and I'm in a snug 22 pants/too loose 24, 3x top.
  • No worries, I was just looking for an estimate. I was guessing a couple hundred, because I lost about half to one pound a week over what MFP is set to (1.5 pounds).
  • Yep. Meant to mention that. Forgot. Oooooooooh. Now I have to go buy Twix.
  • Interesting. I love it when a personal theory turns out to be right. Makes me feel smart. :) I'd like to look for some scientific studies on this too. I am convinced that the Abilify gave me diabetes earlier than I would have developed it naturally. My parents and grandfather were diabetic, so there was a strong likelihood…
  • Congrats! Well done you! Time to start planning for maintainence!
  • I wasn't a fidgeter until recently. My fidgeting, I suspect, is a medication side effect. I don't remember which one (I'm on a handful for psych issues), but one of them I'm on listed something like "restless movements". It's almost a compulsion, I can stop but it requires conscious thought. I suspect it's partly why (when…
  • HAH! What a great goal! ;)
  • @Tacklewasher Where do you get this bread? The stuff I buy is 80 calories a slice (generic bread from HEB). Do you spray the Pam on the bread or the pan? I tried it on the pan and the sandwich was so dry. A good thing on grilled cheese is a sprinkle of onion and garlic powders right after they done cooking (or after one…
  • @cheryldumais Have you tried spraying them with Pam, salting them and baking them at 350/400 until crispy? Use a pizza cutter to cut into wedges first and you have corn chips! Keep them whole and use them for tostadas. Keep a watch on them because they can go from crispy to burned pretty quick. I don't time them, I like…
  • @quiksylver296 No, I haven't! I'll look for them this Christmas though! I tried the Now n' Later cherry ones and thought those were meh. If you like cherry Now n' Laters you'd love them though. @Mellykay88 What a problem to have, right? I want to see how long I can make them last!
  • Do you count mental illnesses as chronic disease? Everyone crows about how wonderful exercise is for treating depression, but for me personally (bipolar I, mostly depression) exercise does nothing to improve my mood. The only thing that works for my mood is medication. I worked for a year and a half in retail, walking…
  • I mostly agree, except about the hunger statement. You don't have to have violent growling stomachs to be hungry. You also don't have to be hungry in order to need to eat. I realize that being diabetic my needs are different from those that aren't, but I ate lunch yesterday at about eleven or eleven thirty, I forget…
  • Lies! Tim Tams are my favorite biscuits (I'm American, and call cookies by their proper name: cookies, but Tim Tams are biscuits. My brain is a strange place) I particularly like them with opposite corners bit off, one end dunked in coffee, and suck the coffee through until you taste coffee. Then eat the whole biscuit.…
  • I had no idea you can freeze eggs. Shell and all, I assume? That's a fantastic idea!
  • 1: to make my new size 22s go from a little snug to just right. I figure ten pounds or so should do that. 2: this one starts after payday on the fifth when I can buy the veggies, I am going to challenge myself to eat eight 1/2 cup servings of veggies each day for a week - and no corn, except in mixed veggies. Right now I…
  • My mom bought me a tiny chocolate heart candy thing for Valentine's day. It's Palmer brand chocolate (for the non-US MFP people, Palmer is a VERY cheap and inferior brand of chocolate, even by US standards) and the total container is 300 calories. I hate Palmer chocolate. Always have. In 2016, before I started back here I…
  • Two today! I bought junk food, but didn't overeat. I had two servings of cookies and put the rest away. I did go over my calories, but not as much as I normally would have. I'll take any progress! And I did go to my local Goodwill, tried on some 18s, they pulled up but I couldn't zip them (as expected, but didn't even…
  • Surprisingly, a Krispy Kreme original glazed donut. Only 190 calories. I know that's a lot for the size of the thing, but considering how fatty and sugar laden they are I figured they'd be in the 300s easy. A donut and a black coffee for breakfast might not be a nutritious breakfast, but if you balance the rest of your…
  • What's your secret? My grilled cheeses are like double that. I use mayo instead of butter, because butter is so hard to spread, and I go very light on the mayo, but I'd say there's like eighty to a hundred calories right there between both slices. I don't like not using any oil on my bread. And my cheese is 70 calories a…
  • I'm very apple shaped. It took 40 pounds to even see a difference. Meanwhile, at 57 pounds I've lost a total of 5 inches off my waist. That sounds like a lot, but that's five inches from allllllllllll around my waist, and when you start with a 53 inch waist it's not very noticeable unless I'm wearing slim fit tops instead…
