  • I'll try out the stationary bicycle more often than the treadmill I wear a sweatshirt while I run on the treadmill helps me focus
  • I do not take any prescription meds at all, I did eat lots of soy back when I was vegan for 2 years but now I try to avoid it as much as possible.

  • I had very little strength when I first started, even to the point were I had to use 5 lbs for a male that is embarrassing. But, now I can do up to 15 lbs! Just keep yourself motivated!
  • Remember the people doing their routine are listening to heavy music and really focused on themselves! Just focus on what needs to be done! You CAN do this!

  • I went to the store to buy lots of food, stuff like liquid egg whites, turkey bacon etc just to increase my protein intake, I'm learning okay never had this much advice at one time! :-)
  • Try the strong lifts 5x5 program Just do all the exercises with dumbells except the dead lift http://stronglifts.com/5x5/ Just remember to keep a good posture, like others have said look of starting strength before trying anything major.
  • I'm trying strong lifts but I can only manage dumbbells right now 10lbs-15lb, I'll need a better protein shake then, mine only has 17g per scoop. Okay i'll take your advice on the protein problem, I'll need lots of egg whites, a better protein shake and more meat & legumes to get to 90-100g every day. I'm stubborn, sorry.
  • sorry but I think 90-100g of protein is ludicrous, you only need around 55g per day! I do not want to gain fat just to work harder to lose it later, it makes me depressed just thinking about it...
  • I find plant based protein drinks taste the best, I also think they are better absorbed into the body but I could be wrong there.
  • I've always struggled with putting on muscle my entire life, I am putting lots of effort into it more than ever now! I have a small stomach so I wouldn't be able to cram a foot long sub :)
  • My guess is that the body digests the meal overnight and the weight of that meal is broken down?.
  • Funny thing is 2 years as a vegan made me learn so many new things to cook at home, I had a small bowl of honey bunches of oats felt great weirdly, will go try vegetable omelette tomorrow when we get eggs.

  • Sorry I haven't posted updates :( I did see the doctor on campus, The kind doctor explained to me that I strained a neck muscle. Which she recommended that I rest for a month and take ibuprofen if the pain spikes again. Thank you for your advice everyone :)

  • Hurray I did it!... sorta I wasn't able to squat the bar so I tried to do dumbbells the first one was 15 lbs but I couldn't manage 2 reps, so I went lower to 8 lbs, which I managed to 3 reps of five sets.
