  • Same! From 2014-2015 I lost 60 lbs. Between 2016- March 2018 I gained back 45lbs. Here I am again trying to take the 45 lbs off. I log daily, my diary is open and I'm a very "active" friend. Feel free to friend me so we can support each other.
  • I started three days ago. I'm doing the 16/8 protocol and the 5:2 schedule. I eat 1200 cals between 1pm-8pm for 5 days (Sun,Tues,Wed,Fri,Sat) and 500 cals between 1pm-8pm for two days (Mon,Thurs). So far everything has been great...but it's just the beginning.
  • Hi Y'all! Started at 200 Current 184 Short term goal 145 ULTIMATE goal 120 I have an open diary and I am actively supportive. Feel free to add me
  • I have logged for over 1300 days. My diary is open. I log both good and bad. I am very supportive and I am looking for friends who also comment and dialogue. I'm almost 50, happily married and have five children. I lost 60 lbs with MFP in the past but put back on 45. I plan to lose that 45 lbs again.
  • Wendy, I have actually been looking into natural remedies for relief. I lost both parents to cancer, so those hormones the doctors want me on won't be part of my daily regimen! Losing my shirt is a regular occurrence for me! LOL! Thanks for the recommendations. I like the idea of a combo rather than taking bunches of…
  • I'm in! Start Weight March 2nd: 184 Goal Weight: 154
  • I just found this thread and I hope y'all don't mind if I join. I will be 50 on March 18th This Peri-menopause/Menopause stuff is making me nuts...and I was already nuts, so now I'm REALLY nuts! • Hi Y'all! I am 48 and currently living in Appling, Georgia
  • WOW! Spot on! This is exactly what i have to deal with. Why does it have to be this way????
  • Late night snacking is a BIG problem for me. I would love to join!
  • I love the sugar free/fat free creamers that they have in the markets. Sometimes I also add some vanilla soymilk or cashew milk to my coffee. It adds the creaminess, sweetness but very few calories or sugar. Just make sure to measure your portions. One tablespoon only goes so far. I've become accustomed to drinking my…
  • I don't know how accurate of an answer you'll get on here since this group seems to be endorsed by Fitbit. Personally, I wouldn't recommend purchasing another Fitbit. Despite the inaccuracies, mine died after only six months. People all over the internet complain about that happening and unfortunately I didn't listen.…
  • I'm 5'3' plus. My happiest weight was 119 lbs. Five kiddos later and living the life of a 46 year old have changed my body and my metabolism. I skyrocketed to 200 disgusting lbs. I'm down to 148 now. Short term goal is 140 and then I'll see where it goes. It's harder now to get to that lower weight- so I have to be…
  • I am (was) an emotional eater and had the same problem. I never deprive myself of the foods I enjoy and I keep "binge foods" out of my house. I stop eating completely and I conclude my food/exercise diary by 8pm . I am very strict with myself about it. It was difficult at first-especially during stressful days. I had to…
  • 6 cups a day is fine. I also drink as much as I can, and still drink about 6 cups a day. Sometimes it's less. More than that makes me feel like I am drowning! If my mouth seems dry- then I know I should be drinking. I'm not a fan of water and there have been times when I have actually gotten a headache from being…
  • The 49 year got his little 29 year old girlfriend to come to the message boards and insult me! LMAO!!!! Oooo- you're both so tough, ganging up on people! Why don't the two of you run along now and go play with the other middle school minded children like yourselves and leave the mature, intelligent adults…
  • You had the audacity to insult everyone on a thread, and the individual who posted it, because they want to be friends with people on MFP in their own age group and you say you aren't bitter? If you "don't care what what anyone does" than keep your mouth shut and move along. There's nothing to see here for you. Your point…
  • Aren't you a curmudgeon! Why did you even bother posting? Feeling lonely and self-loathing, maybe. Shoe-fly! No one want to be friends with you...even though you're crying out for some.
  • Too many calories, too few calories, too much junk, too much sugar, too much alcohol... We're all adults here. We're all responsible for our own actions. Losing a few pounds doesn't make you an M.D., Ph.D, nutritionist or God. If they want your input, they'll ask for it. Otherwise, MIND YOUR OWN F_ING BUSINESS!
  • I don't ever eat my calories back. I see calories burned as creating the deficit I need in order to lose weight. IMO, if I ate them back, I might as well have not even worked out. I know there are other reasons for working out and that MFP already sets our calories/macros at a deficit, but this is what works for me.
  • If you enjoy them- then keep on having them. International Delight makes great sugar Free/Fat Free creamers- 15 calories a Tbsp Caramel Marshmallow, Caramel Cream, French Vanilla, Toasted Hazelnut and my favorite- Chocolate Almond Biscotti. My husband purchases raw green coffee beans and roasts them fresh. The quality and…
  • LMAO! This post made reading through this whole thread completely worth it!
  • Exercise can RELIEVE depression- not cure it. If someone's depression is chemical, not situational, than the only thing that can manage it is an antidepressant. Exercise can increase serotonin and can lead to temporary feelings of bliss. However, if a chemical imbalance is present ONLY meds can be used to maintain those…
  • Sure do. My husband has been touching me alot more....now that's motivation right there...for all kinds of stuff.
  • Don't apologize! You came here looking for support on the "motivation and support" board. Some people on MFP think it's their job to cruise the message boards, correct other people with their "expertise" and "brilliant knowledge" with out showing an ounce of support. For goodness sakes- they need to get a life! That being…
  • I have also been on the on-off-meds rollercoaster. It didn't work for me. My weight loss, healthy eating and active life style experience has been very positive but I have come to accept that the chemicals in my brain need to be reconciled with medication. Talking with friends, counselors etc is nice for support- but for…
