This is precisely why I steer clear of these goofy diets that emphasize one thing or another... Does anyone here truly not know what food is healthy and what food is crap? But just in case...

Why not just eat a combination of them both. Plus add in some chicken, pork, and steak.0 -
I'm up to 2300 calories a day and still losing. You need to eat healthy, whole foods.0

and once in a while I have a day when I eat unrestrained and do not log. It's working for me and I have reached my goal weight.
Here here...my unrestrained day is my weigh in day (after i have weighed in of course). but i pretty much eat whatever i want and have a break from writing everything down. It helps to break the cycle of boredom
some days i only eat about 500 calories especially if i'm very busy, but then i make up for the deficit on other days. most important for me is that the numbers stack up at the end of the week, not at the end of the day.

myfitnesspal tells me off most days for not eating enough calories.
the aim is <20g carbs a day.

You appear to have your calorie goal at 2000. So your goal weight is 200 lb?
Is that in a healthy range for your height based on BMI?
