  • So surreal visit (but good!!!) to the Y last night. At first I couldn't find a spot even in overflow. However, didn't have to wait too long before someone did pull out of an overflow spot. However, it was farther away than I normally park. Still, I bucked up, grabbed my bag and headed for the door. As I was walking I…
  • Happy New Year everyone!
  • After the worst asthma attack I've had to date I had a follow-up appointment with my doctor. She had a very frank and honest talk with me. While it was true that my cholesterol was good, my blood pressure was good and even my sugar levels were good I still had to lose weight. At 330lb the weight was impacting my breathing…
  • I know before our local Y got wifi available for members (so I could watch netflix while on the treadmill off my iphone) I would tend to use the same two treadmills because they were the ones located in front of the TV on the only channel I could stand watching.
  • I have the double whammy bipolar and anxiety. So yeah..I know how it can affect the weight. It's a big reason why my therapist is part of my process along with my doctor.
  • Wow! Thank you everyone for your wonderful words of support! They mean so much. This past Saturday I reacted a little better. I lost another 2lbs. However, like many of you suggested I'm trying to refocus on other things. My big priority is to get the food journal logged everyday and to stay under the calorie goal. I know…
  • Fantastic! (as my favorite Doctor would say) You are inspiration!
  • Bravo!!!!!!!!!
  • I just want to get to the 200's by August! But wish all of you success, health and happiness on your way to your Onderland!
  • I highly highly recommend her book - "When you Eat at the Refrigerator, Pull Up a Chair". That's my favorite. Another good one is: "When Food is Love."
  • I have a history of getting obsessive about the scales and that usually leads to sabotage so I only weigh in my Doctor's office (right now I'm on a every three month schedule) and my therapist's office (right now a weekly schedule). I'd like to get to a point where I do it on a bi-weekly schedule. I'm with some of the…
  • You can also get points for workouts too. It's a good motivator.
  • Good morning! Hope all are well. My goal today is to get to they Y for water aerobics. I packed the gym bag. So I really have no excuse not to go but I'm sure as you all know just because there really is none doesn't mean one can't be created. LOL Anyway, hope you all have a happy and healthy day!
  • For a treat (185 cal total) I'll take 16 Ghirardelli 60 % cacao dark chocolate chips--put them in a bowl, melt them in a microwave then slice up a banana into the melted chocolate. Yum! Very satisfying. Intense chocolate flavor from the melted chips and the sweet from the banana.
  • I want to be under 300lb by gencon (August 2015).
  • Hi! I'm 47 starting on needing to loose 100+ (down 4llbs already). I'm a cool kid though! Just ask my cats! ;) No seriously - my big activity this past weekend was carrying a banner in our local Krampus parade! Had a guy with a fire whip right behind us! Talking about motivation to keep moving! LOL Still, was a lot of fun…
  • I waited 20 days before saying anything but I see what you all are saying. It makes sense. :) Thank you for the feedback. I really appreciate it.
  • EveryMove lets you choose rewards to put your points towards. A lot of times they're like a coupon towards something. Sometimes it's towards helping a charity. I'm working towards 50% off an Epic timepiece. With every Epic timepiece sold, Epic International will provide clean water for five years and health education to an…
  • Thank you all. Good advice. Last night I focused on just trying to get some darn point on my Every Move app. One way to do that is walk over 5000 steps. So while waiting for my scripts to fill I walked the pharmacy for 25 minutes. That got me to 4500 steps. I did some house work and that got me the remaining 500. I felt…
  • Well I have definitely had a history with binging. One of the biggest challenges for me to record my meals is to fight the "hoarding" mentality followed by a binge. Or the other pattern which is to binge in "rebellion." And you are right Kalikel..I do not want to go back down to binging hell.
  • After reviewing my food journal this weekend my therapist really cautioned me not to skip lunch (I have a habit of doing that). She said I should try and eat something so my body doesn't think it's "starving". Plus I concede I make better food choices for dinner when I've eaten something in the afternoon. The demand to eat…
  • I've been having a rough time this week. I'm off on making my meal plans. I've been coming in under my calories but I can't say my meal choices have always been the best. To compound everything else - I have only worked out once this week. So..tonight...I am going to the Y! I will walk..and I will do my water aerobics. I…
  • I too found myself facing the "blahs" coming off the weekend. It was a combination of my back bothering me again (after being pretty pain free for about week) and the 'honeymoon' phase wearing off with my commitment to change. Things that have helped: 1) Had my strategies for success in place - met with my therapist last…
  • Yesterday I turned in a full 2 weeks of completed food and exercise diary to my therapist! Didn't give up. Had low motivation by yesterday but being able to hand her the print outs recharged me. We talked about me getting weighed at the beginning of the month and did I want to know my true weight or if I just had lost…
  • Let see my three days plans - Tonight I have a game with friends. Planned my meals so can treat myself to a cafe mocha from Starbucks! No time for gym so did a walk at lunch. Tomorrow - shopping for a recliner to help with my back issues, gym (self led water aerobics and walk) in the afternoon, then another game with…
  • I have such a busy weekend planned. I won't be able to do my fitness work out on Friday but plan for a good walk and swim tonight, Saturday and Sunday. Will pay due diligence to my food plan. Especially since i went 50 calories over last night. Well, 50 calories by MFP counting. I was still under the goal of my therapist…
  • Ok.... 1) Do my PT exercises 2) Actually go to game tonight with friends instead of finding an excuse to go home and veg. - Be social. 3) Do my nails :)
