hi !! I'm 5'1, SW 130, CW 116, GW 108-ish. I got down to 110 but am struggling with maintenance... I'm back to 116 now and eating at a small deficit again to try and meet my goal. Good luck to all on the weight loss journey

Hi, I have been smoking for at least 15 years and still run ( slowly) for 45 mins, and survive :) When I quit for a few months I definitely felt an improvement after 2 months, and after 4 I felt my lungs were just like new. E-cigarettes are the best ^^ Congrats on the quitting !

thank you everybody for your advice. I will stick with 1750 as it suits me ATM. I will do this for 4 weeks, and come back and tell you what happened :) You're right... I shouldn't overthink this and change my plan every two weeks !

So if you were sedentary you'd burn 2010 ? Wow, I am impressed ! I don't think I would ... Anyone else have a suggestion for daily intake according to my activity level ?
-
this is what confuses me : don't these 2010 calories already include the excercise ?
-
thank you saphin, I know my post was long but as I said, I do already get 30 minutes of brisk walking in every day. Also, I have logged consistently and religiously (everyday) for the past 7 months, to the point where I thought it was making me a little crazy, and where I was afraid of falling into an ED. The gap in my…

don't know if it has been mentioned but: Callanetics ! The best low impact I've ever tried. Works wonders, protects everything.

haha thanks everyone, the warm words will keep me motivated. I am going to stop looking at the scales for a bit and start focusing on strength progress :)
-
oh cool, I'll have to start using it on my phone, so far I've been only using my computer to log thanks !
-
yeah but there's no way of seing the 7 or 30 days total and average, so it's hard if you're trying to balance out calories throughout the week oh well, juste have to use a good old calculator ... DIY :) thanks though
-
wow geez, thanks :) planning on losing a bit more fat (hopefully) to become an 11 :)
-
I think I'm probably 15 16 or 12 (this is actually quite hard!) Am I right ? I'd love to be 5 or 11 !!

recap from what everyone has said: If I am trying to lose fat and gain muscle ( or at least not lose any) though exercise and balanced eating, and if I weigh 116 pounds, I should aim between 80g and 100g protein (not necessarily animal) ? And 100g won't be too much for my (healthy) kidneys ? thanks for all your help guys

Mialonghorn: hourglass going on slightly pear ? :) I don't know lol , it's easier to say withs pics than with measurments. What would you say for me ?
-
I don't really care about being low carb or not as long as my calories are ok, but I've having trouble eating 35% or 40% protein ( makes me feel like I'm on a high protein diet). So as some people suggested, I lowered the carbs to 35%, protein to 30% and fat to 25% ,so every day I would need to eat: 152 g. carbs 38 g. fat…

just measured: 35-30-37 for 116 lbs. and 5'1... I guess that's quite "large" for my weight and hight ( bodyfat% at least 28 ?)
-
Yes, I do about 3 hours a week, sometimes more. I do exercises called Callanetics (high rep body resistance training) they're really oldschool and not many people have heard of them but they work really well on me (I've never tried weights). Since there is absoluterly no cardio involved I usually log it under yoga, but…

nobody has posted on the bodyfat estimate thread since 2013 lol, but maybe people can give me an estimate on here ?
-
Wow thanks Linnaea and wapan :) Does anyone know what the thread is called ?
-
ok I'm sorry those were so big...
-
just so you can tell me what you think (I know it won't be accurate, but it's so hard to be objective when you're looking at yourself everyday) thanks guys

Thanks for the answers everyone ! the YMCA formula gave me "obese" and 33% bodyfat, and other calculators (us navy, etc.) gave my anything between 23% to 28%. I've been measuring every single part of my body and entering the numbers on every website I could find :) I guess I would have to pay the $$$$ to get it done…
-
and is it ok for "finishing" (i.e. maintenance) ?
-
Ok thanks everyone ! I always weigh my food, and do have trouble logging sometimes when MFP only offers volume and not wieght, but I guess once I have entered everything once it'll be easier to enter again, since all items will be saved. As someone said above: you don't really discover new food all the time and end up…

Hi I'm 5'1, 27 years old, and 117 lbs (started 130 two months ago). I don't own a measuring tape (stupid, I know), but I'm taking "progress" pics, as you can see on my profile pic. Don't know if anyone else but me sees the difference yet though :)
-
True :) But these days I catch myself wondering: "how do THIN people do it?, Were they born that way?" (And these days, the worst: "why am I craving chocolate .... and why can I only have one piece and not 10 pieces? " ... Maybe I need to find a bit more motivation and just keep going !!! Have a nice day everyone !
-
thanks, it's true I haven't thought about maintenance yet. I've got lots and lots of intfo about losing, but haven't done any research on maintaining. Maybe it's time to start reading ! Is 0,25 pounds a week really a good loss at this point ? I still feel I have a LOT of fat to get rid of.... but it's true I'm not planning…

Hi everyone, I know no one has posted on here for three months, but I too was looking for the number of calories burned for callanetics (the old school 10 hour DVD version)... I usually enter it as "yoga" or "pilates" with a "high intensity" effort ( on apps that have different intensities you can log in) but honestly, for…

thanks for answering :) yeah I've already read the sexypants post :) ugh... 3 months to lose 6 pounds.... I know I have to be patient, but it's so frustrating to think at first I lost the same amount in a couple of weeks... (I know, water, but still)
