  • Water during cooking adds volume (aka weight) but doesn't change the nutritional value and calories of the noodles.
  • I just get really graphic sexual messages that make me want to mask my IP and add an extra lock to my front door.
  • Hi, another special snowflake here. Except well, I don't think I'm special enough to break the science behind CICO or be a snowflake, but, bear with me. I started at around 240, got down to 180 and spent nearly a year at that weight. Why? I felt like I was eating right, staying within my target, being active enough, doing…
  • Cartilage tears typically make you a candidate for surgery if they're causing pain/lowering your quality of life. You're only 30, this is definitely something you should be working to address. I've done multiple meniscus tears, did partial tears to 3 out of the 4 ligaments in my one knee and I run 3-4 days a week now. With…
  • Ah yes, but can you tie the cherry stem with your tongue while teasing your hair and batting your eyelids? I'm not sure it's flirting if it's not simultaneous...
  • In the words of Rachel Green: "No uterus, no opinion" ;)
  • About two drinks into dancing haha. ;) Since I'm not really a club girl; it typically takes place beside a camp fire with a few other lovely ladies.
  • I have one hidden (my rib cage) and one visible (braille on my wrist). For me, they're an expression of something about me that I personally find tied tightly to my identity. I have a third one that I've had a few artists draw up concepts for which will take up most of my thigh. Obviously, I'm a fan. I certainly won't…
  • You so are, but I will take that as the HUGEST compliment ever <3
  • Around 230ish. Maybe 190 A few days ago at 159 :) And thank-you to this thread for making me realize how far I've come not just in weight loss, but in being smart enough to stop perming my hair haha
  • A lot of the time, it's just while your body is adjusting. I know that I tend to go through drops and rises in my appetite and that over the span of about a two week period, it tends to even out. Depending on when during the day your cardio is, you may just be able to eat the bulk of your calories prior to?
  • If only you knew how non-organic your $7 "organic" apples are. Know what I'm going to do? I'm going to continue to eat my diet of foods from various sources (including the odd trip down the freezer isle) and just keep on losing the weight and improving my health. Mmmkay? Mmmkay. Damn fear mongers.
  • I know, it's just been snowballing. I started with just the engagement ring, and then men started really creepily saying "Oh, so you're not off the market yet." The wedding band I'm having relatively more success with. I agree though, creeps will be creeps.
  • It's probably that open, friendliness that's getting you flirted with haha. If I'm out in public, at a bar with friends etc I'm never the one that gets flirted with because I'm more introverted in how I act. Put me at work where I run face-to-face fundraising teams and interact with all sorts of people in the most open,…
  • It's alright, bro. We got this. We just need someone to start a "Flirting for Dummies" thread. Lesson #1, ladies and gents: Winky faces ;)
  • I think where we disagree is that I think you can have all those things out of a relationship: mutual respect, etc. I don't think that you expressing interest and physically saying the words "would you like to go on a date?" undermine the level of respect you'd receive. Just because I made the first move, doesn't mean a…
  • You're micromanaging a bit too much, honestly. When most people hit maitenence, they identify a range, not a specific pound: something more like 132-138. Our bodies aren't going to be the same weight every day. You're scared, you're obsessing, and you're restricting unnecessarily; you need to move through it or see someone…
  • Not to pick on you, but this is something that drives me a little nutty. Why the heck didn't YOU just ask him out if you were interested? He likely could have felt the same... Just sayin'.
  • Exercise is for overall health, deficit is for weight loss. Eat maintenance and you won't gain a thing, even without the exercise. You're better off waiting until after you have your MRI results to look to exercise. As someones who's done big knee injuries (tore 3 out of 4 ligaments) and smaller ones (just my meniscus),…
  • I've lost 80lbs on Hydroxycut! No wait... that was CICO. Yeah, I'll stick with CICO. Seriously, if any openly available "weight loss pill" actually worked, do you really think there would be overweight people?
  • I'mma go poor myself a big bowl of delicious, sugary, death now. ;)
  • Any trails or other jogging friendly places near you? I personally am not a fan of street running (which has more to do with my previous knee injuries than anything) so I tend to seek out dirt/gravel trails in my area. I'm fortunate that there is a lot around here. Otherwise, I really encourage you to not focus on others…
  • Small goals. As someone who's nearly 80 lbs down, it feels a lot better as you get closer to the bottom of the mountain than it does at the summit :) Little hard work, little dedication, and a lot of logging and you'll be there in no time.
  • Are you sticking to a specific brand or have you tried a few? The likely culprits are the type of protein (whey, soy, etc), the sugar alcohols or the protein to fibre balance. If you've been eating bars with a specific type of protein, switching to another type to see if that's the problem is probably the easiest.
  • Hahaha. This has been my issue in the past too. I'm pretty sure that unless any woman explicitly requests 'boy parts' they're not interested in seeing them.
  • I won't lie, I almost sent him a FR. His evil plan is working! hahaha
  • A little flirting never hurt anyone haha
  • It all comes down to what's a priority for you. When you make weight loss a priority for you, it will be achievable. I'm a year+ out of university, I work full time (usually 6 days per week) and I'm still dropping lbs and fitting in exercise. I know you can do it too. People with much busier lives than you or I have…
  • THIS. I've been losing weight for over four years now (which is my own fault and a long story blah blah) and I've lost a grand total of 3 inches off my thighs. My body literally will take fat from anywhere else first. I'd blame genetics, but I actually like my thick thighs. Makes me a powerhouse in volleyball. haha
