  • Hi ladies! I am going to add you both as friends for support, if you don't mind. I too have a 3 month old and need to lose 50-70 pounds. I feel like I have such a long journey ahead, but know it is doable using MFP if I just keep on it. I lost that much after my second baby and need to do it again now.
  • I am in the Minneapolis area, but have to admit that I haven't been too active as of late. We are trying to conceive our third child, so weight loss isn't my primary goal at the moment. I am, however, looking forward to making this a healthy pregnancy (once it happens!), so I hope to use MFP to keep me on track and could…
  • I had my thryroid tested and it wasn't abnormal, but was very low in the normal range. I was hoping it would help with libido and metabolism. Unfortunately, not much of that loss has been recent! I am trying to take a new approach by eating more and focus on getting more protein in my diet, so it does sound like I am doing…
  • I just started the second month of Insanity today, but am looking forward to choosing my next program! I think am going to do a hybrid of Insanity and Chalean Extreme. I have heard a lot of good things about Chalean Extreme, so I want to give it a try.
  • Here is a link to the calculator: http://www.everydayhealth.com/food-fitness/exercise-activity/calories-burned-conditioning-exercises. I also bought a new HRM today and should have it Monday or Tuesday, so I can compare as well!
  • I am doing Insanity and using the calculator on Everday Health to determine how many calories I am burning. Today, I actually did lower what it gave me and it was still over 700.
  • Thanks again everybody. Yes, deep down, I know that it is worth it. Sometimes I totally feel like I am "fit fat" if that makes sense. In other words, a stranger might think that I couldn't do things physically, but I could probably kick a lot of people's butts. :) I do have MFP calculate my excercise calories, but simply…
  • I do feel good. The workouts are becoming easier, do obviously something good is happening. I haven't taken measurements, but I know I need to. I just get busy and forget. Maybe I should set a reminder on my phone. I have heard of people not having results from Insanity, but it seems that is a vast minority of people. I am…
  • I will finish week three tomorrow. Feel free to add me! And if you look, you will see my post where I am crying about gaining weight. We would make great friends. LOL
  • Insanity comes with a nutrition guide that helps you calculate how many calories you should be eating and says you should eat 5 times a day in blocks that would look something like 400 cals, 300 cals, 400, 300, 400 and then bringing in additional snacks if you need to in order to get to your calorie goal. It gives you…
  • OMG...I just laughed out loud at my desk. She drives me NUTS!!!
  • I found that using a thermos will keep a smoothie icy still a couple of hours later. I am in love with this!
  • We eat a ton of Jimmy Dean Delights breakfast items. They have several to choose from and are all under 300 calories, most below 250. They take under two minutes to cook in the microwave generally. They would be cheaper and healthier than McDonals. Aldi's ham and egg sandwich only has 228 calories also. $2.99 a box at my…
  • One of my favorites is strawberry and spinach salad with a raspberry vinaigrette. I make quite a huge one and put it in an extra large Ziploc storage container. There is less than 150 calories in it, but it keeps me full for quite a while.
  • I also wanted to echo Aldi. Produce is so much cheaper there than anywhere else.
  • I just started using it again this week after mainly running the last 5 months. Just to give you an idea, I run 3 miles. Cardio wise, it isn't a huge challenge, but man, am I sore! I think it really does work the muscles well, something I really needed to get into my routine.
