Truly, unless you're a very active girl whose burning a lot of the calories you take in, 1200 calories for a 5 foot frame seems reasonable. These days people tend to take in a lot more calories than they need. When you consider that you can get a days worth of calories in a single muffin what does that really say?…

Super EZ, just get a bag of cooked shrimp, a spicy pasta sauce, think Fra Diavolo and some angel hair pasta. Delicious! A nice bottle of wine, I would choose a Chianti (it's got some spice to it) or a Cabernet Sauvignon. If you've saved up some calories for tonight, a nice Italian bread and some olive oil infused with…

I do want wine, occasionally, not nightly :-)

It's not the calories, it's the habit. Trying to replace bad habits (nightly) with reasonable ones. :-)

Have you even read the China Study? And do you really not believe ALL People have a right to their opinions. If you do, that IS respecting them. As for Hate mongering groups, while I do not agree with their opinions and might even make it my personal goal to help them to change their opinions, I don't hate them for having…

Oh, I suppose I should ad that James Taylor was performing with Carly Simon.

No, though I admit I am germophobic. I was my hands frequently, always use antibacterial wet wipes on store shopping carts (untold number of germs there) and stay away from sick people. I also don't frequent crowded places like Malls during holiday season.

I can totally identify with everything you said. That's why I'm here, trying to do what the next poster suggested. It will happen if we let it happen. The only one who can really sabotage us is ourselves and the only one that can make the change is us too. :)

Point taken, your full of um lol

I can happily say that I live on family owned property that I know has been chemical free (that is to say we have not used chemicals on our land) for well over 100 years. I grow all Organic fruits and vegetables (all the standard garden veggies and apples, apricots, plums, pears, mulberries, blueberries, blackberries and…

I spend about $600.00 monthly on groceries and household items for me and my husband. Although I grow a lot of veggies and fruit in summer months. I know I could spend less but we try to eat mostly organics and locally grown foods. We live in the Northeast, USA

I've already posted what I hate most about being fat and the long list of additional things that have been added by MFP's could fill a book. I just wanted to thank everyone for their honesty. I often hear of overweight people saying that their weight doesn't bother them, it bother's other people but if that were the case…

I can tell you right now as I am dealing with this also. K-tape, google directions for application, though expensive help it to heal faster. I have used duct tape (per doctors instructions) and it works too, just not as pretty. After applying the tape, where shoes, all day. I have always been a barefoot girl, not good! It…

Isn't that the point of having MFP friends??? Obviously they can't lose the weight for you but it's nice to know that they're cheering you on so that you can do it. Case in point; crowds cheering on the side of a marathon, fans in the stands around a baseball game and so on and so on. I feel sorry for you, that you "never…

My stomach, resting on my lap!!! Looking at myself in mirrors, windows, etc. . . Not wanting to be in photos (even for both my sons weddings). Not wanting to be seen by people who use to know me before I became fat. Not fitting comfortably in booths at a restaurant. Seeing other fat people and asking my husband "am I that…

Great progress :flowerforyou: Keep going at that rate and you'll be where you want to be by the end of the year!

So glad you asked that, I've been trying to figure it out for some time. Wish someone would have responded to your question.

I'm dealing with this right now. It's come and gone over the years. Brought on by myself. Years back, when I first dealt with PF it was crippling. I did so much research trying to find a way to stop the pain and suffering I was going through. I talked with a doctor on line and he showed me how to tape my heel to alleviate…

Funny, I'm having some friends over from Liberia and thought to make a Paw Paw Pie which calls for Papaya (never made it before) but after this post, I'll skip it

I don't know if this will help but you can try it. Years ago I struggled to quit smoking. Finally I got the idea to visualize what I was actually doing, INHALING SMOKE! Just the thought of sounded so strange to me. Why would I want to fill my lungs and body with smoke? After that, every time I had the urge to light up I…

Wow, I love all the food memories you've shared. As I read I can see age groups. How different times conjured up different memories. I was surprised not to here family dinner routines of the Italian families with their Sunday Dinner of Dad's Home-made Spaghetti Sauce or more of the Sunday Roasts but I guess that was back…
