  • How was the race?!!?!
  • I was at my parents home in New Jersey for Week 9 Day 1, rather than my home of New Orleans-and it made all the difference in the world. As New Orleans heats up for summer, I feel like I've been running in hot soup! I'll be back in Nola for Week 9 Day 2, so I'm expecting a lot slower time.....
  • Just finished Week 8 Day 2-and I FINALLY had a good run. My dad always told me that you can't have 3 good runs in a row, but I had been starting to wonder how many bad ones you can have in a row! I think what helped was finding a pace that was slow enough to be sustainable. I've seen my pace drop significantly over the…
  • Think I had a breakthrough on today's run. Today was the first day where I truly felt I was at a comfortable sustainable pace. I was ready to keep going-but told myself to stop, so I don't pay for it next time. Who would have thought that a few weeks ago I was really struggling on the 4 minute runs! This probably just…
  • Made it through Day 2 without stopping, but I think I might redo Week 6. I am looking forward to red lights a liiiittle bit too much on these runs to feel totally comfortable!!!
  • Just a quick note on how much this has been a mental exercise for me as well as a physical one. I was doing the 10 minute run, 5 walk, 10 run the other day, and for whatever reason, I forgot to stop after the first 10 minutes and ran for about another three. This meant I only had a 2 minute walk if I were going to stay on…
  • I just finished Week 4 Day 2, and I was really struggling on the second 5 min run. I tried to just concentrate on the music, but man, was I glad when the 5 minutes was up! I am hoping Day 3 will be a little smoother. However, it's starting to be real summertime (like disgusting sticky hot) down here in New Orleans, so I…
  • This is great advice-toe taps are key!!
  • Just finished week 2 and it still feels pretty good! My shins were beginning to have that familiar ache, so I went and got fitted for some new sneakers (it had been 4 years), and started doing more stretching and toe taps. The pain is almost gone and today's run felt great! On to week 3!
  • Finished Week 1 on Tuesday and I'm psyched to start Week 2 tonight! Who knew I could get this excited about running!? It's also so inspiring to know that you're all out there doing it too.
  • Pete-Thanks so much for starting this group! I just completed Week 1, Day 2 today and would love to join you all for support and motivation along our journey! Let's do this!!!

  • weigh in: 167 even. I learned/am learning what a role sodium plays in my diet. It's amazing how much betterI feel and how much better my skin looks when I am drinking my 8 glasses of water a day. I need to keep it up! Hope you ladies had a wonderful week!
