  • I know it doesn't look like but I went from 255 of no muscle and all fat down to 170 in about a year. Then I've been gaining and losing to try adding on some lean gains for the past 2 years or so! Anything is possible trust me!!!!
  • Trust me on this.. Make an instagram account and follow @LowCalFoodie They post so many different food options, but only options with the lowest calorie content You can combine the options they give and make meals out of it! Just an idea!!
  • Other than for medical reasons I really don't advocate low carb diets at all. Carbs help the brain function more efficiently and are the bodies main source of energy. Not saying you shouldn't just think there are better alternatives. In case you or anyone else isn't aware there are ~4 calories in each gram of carbohydrate…
  • Moderation doesn't work for me as well so I've come to the conclusion that I can only allow myself to have a maximum of 2 meals a day. I've been doing IF (intermittent fasting) for about 2 1/2 - 3 years now and love it completely. I typically don't have my first meal of the day until around 6-7pm. I started slow by…
  • Seriously buy a digital kitchen scale and measure everything out according the grams per serving on the label. You can maximize results this way and after a while it doesn't become too tedious.
  • I too, am trying to gain weight currently. As crazy as it may sound this can be just as difficult as losing to a highly active/busy person. Don't be afraid to use sweets and other high calorie foods in order to meet your caloric needs.
  • Coffee coffee coffee I drink it black but you can certainly add a very small amount of cream or some zero calorie sugar if you prefer. Don't oversleep as well. I always find my optimal sleep window to be anywhere from 6 1/2 - 8 hours max usually around 7 though. I tend to feel groggy if I sleep more than 7 1/2. Just an idea
  • Welcome welcome You've come to a great community everyone here will be more than happy to help keep you motivated and your fitness goals on track!
  • 21 cause of the 90 ;)
  • Haha well you've come to the right place! MFP is great for motivation and getting diet/fitness related questions answered. Welcome to both of you!
  • Well for starters what steps have you taken to break this plateau so far?
  • There is honestly no truth behind "kickstarting" your metabolism with a cheat day or things along that line. It is true that dieting slows your metabolism but one day of binge eating will not do anything long term to effect it whatsoever. To be honest maybe have one small meal where you eat outside your diet once a week.…
  • Haha hmmmm I guess you can say Arby's is slightly more "classy". Why not leave it up to her say, "What do you have a taste for?" and see what ya get, couldn't hurt.
  • I would absolutely choose a carb over a fat for early morning pre workout. Or for any pre workout for that matter, however it may not be relevant if you're waking up at 5 and basically going directly to the gym. Once you eat something it'll take roughly 2 hours for it to be processed through the body and be available to be…
  • I have to admit that I find myself doing this quite often. It all just depends on the song I'll typically put my iPod on shuffle and when a song that i really like or motivates me a lot comes on I find it hard not to go sing with it.
  • The food is really irrelevant I used to be huge on oatmeal for breakfast but specific foods don't cause you to gain weight just eating them at an excess to the point where you're exceeding your caloric limit causes you to gain weight. Some claim the whole grains keep you fuller longer but I'm not sure I buy into all that.
  • Wow that's awesome great work and keep it up!!
  • Depending on your particular goals, your body weight is what I always aim to get each day in grams.
  • haha well thank you sry these responses are so delayed
  • Lol no not in her heavier days!
  • @sara maybe some anna nicole smith but with dark hair?
  • I would stick with what you're doing for now although I'm a hugeee advocate of weight training. However, I think you should continue losing weight how you are until you reach a plateau that way once weight loss has slowed you can add in some weight training causing the loss to continue without having to reduce calories or…
  • So long as you're not completing neglecting your micronutrient intake, i.e. vitamins, minerals, etc. There's no reason why your ENTIRE diet cannot consist of "dirty" foods. I say this because truth be told there is no such thing as dirty foods, but society as a whole has increased their meal portions and not increased…
  • You have a TON of diet/nutrition misinformation through ought your original post. First of all there's no such thing as "healthy" or "unhealthy". Therefore if your problem is simply not being able to consume enough calories, then begin eating more calorie dense foods. Things you may consider "junk" food although it really…
