got 41 miles done today. 110 for november so far. the last 5 really hurt. have a sick kid at my house, so i am running on about 5 hours of sleep today. that coupled with not eating particularly well before the ride really did a number on me. the last 5 miles were really cold and painful...into the wind, and completely out…

amazing how different body types are. i'm struggling to expend 1000 calories on a 30 mile ride...of course, i'm about 140 soaking wet, too!

TD- how are you calculating your calorie expenditure? I know you're a fairly big guy, and I would expect you to burn more than me for comparable mileage, but your numbers are HUGE! A general rule of thumb is 35 cals/mile ridden...which works out pretty close for me. My HRM and the calculator built into MFP agree with that…

I'm starting off November with 31 miles today. Rode with the local club tonight, but got dropped about 2/3 way through.

I'm in. I am going to shoot for 400+ again. A little bit worried about the lack of light in the evenings, but we'll see how it plays out.

i was doing it as one serving. i used one serving (2 T) pb2, 1 T honey, 1 T chocolate chips, about 1/2 serving raisins and 2T powdered milk. i guess you could divide it into to portions and go for a lower calorie count, but it really isn't that big when everything is combined. FWIW a lot of the world food aid organizations…

i make something similar, but use powdered non-fat milk instead of protein powder, pb2, and a tablespoon of chocolate chips. i omit the rice crispies and oatmeal, and add a few raisins. totals: calories: 270, carbs 51, fat 6, protein 10, sodium 150, potassium 300.
