  • Feel free to add me. Just quit chewing tobacco myself and trying to get the rest of me healthy too! You can do it.
  • I do that every now and again. The important thing to remember is that you are actually allowed to live, eat crap and have fun from time to time. The important thing is to get back on track and keep working at it.
  • LOL....not the best idea. I have been stuck at the same weight for the last 4 weeks as well. While it's a little frustrating, I feel like I have more energy and a more positive outlook on things. To quote Yogi Bera, "50% of this is 90% mental." If you are feeling better and have more energy, forget the scale. You know what…
  • Most times, I add it as Cardio Kickboxing. The workput burns (as best I c an figure) about 750 calories, so I find that logging it as cardio kickboxing is close enough.
  • Can't wait to see the post tannign bed pictures.......be interesting to see she melts.
  • Sometimes, stepping on a scale can be a pretty demoralizing experience. Especially when you start losing fat and building muscle. You may not lose, or even sometimes gain weight. Using measurements is probably the best way to chart your progress (even using a mirror can lead you to believe that you aren't making progress).…
  • Personally, I'm prone to using Wii Sports Boxing and Tennis. I'm not sure how accurate the calories burned info on here is, but it makes me feel better anyway.
  • LOL! Gotta go with Beef Tongue. Had to slice some of that while working in a deli once........
  • Hang in there.....somehow, my wife makes it work. I would suggest lean meats and higher fiber foods, like beans.
  • Egg Nog, Liquor, Triple Steak Melts from Taco Bell, Cookies, you know, all the fun stuff.
  • There is a good difference. Remember that you see yourself everyday, so you don't notice the small changes as they happen. It's important to remember that a lot of this is mental. It's how you feel about yourself. I'm down 10lbs too. I feel like I look exactly the same, but I feel so much better. You may not notice the…
  • Having one bad day in a week isn't going to hamper your weight loss very much. If you don't go completely overboard, you'll be okay. Having a drink or two won't hurt, but if you're that concerned about it, take an extra five or ten minutes in the gym or at home. If I'm planning getting take-out during the weekend, I try…
  • Our Comcast syatem has the same and it makes it so easy. As a father of a little one, it's difficult to make it to the gym during the week, and using the On Demand system is a great way to keep the exercise coming. The 3 mile walk is a great workout, and I try to do it at least times a week.
  • Something else that will help is to hold all cheese/mayo/special sauce.....I took of the cheese and mayo on a whopper and it knocks off a decent number of calories and a lot of fat. I also try to eat only a small portion of the fries (those are the worst; with all the fat and salt). If you are looking for somewhat healthy,…
  • Thanks for the imput everyone! I am definately going to keep at it. The scale is moving down, and more importantly, I'm feeling a lot better about myself. It is good to know that most of you aren't seeing it in yourselves either.....I've been at this for about 2 1/2 months at this point (with a 10 day furlough) somewhere…
  • Eating too much protein shouldn't be too much of a problem, especially if you are exercising. If you eat too much protein and don't exercise, well, let's just say, it will cause some instestinal issues (trust me). As for getting your calorie intake up, I would try pastas, beans, or even *gasp* a piece of toast with a…
  • If you aren't eating enough (at least 1100 calories), you're body's metabolism will drop sharply. Make sure you eat enough, get a decent amount of exercise, and it will start to fall off. I've only been losing about a pound a week, but I feel a lot better. Even if you don't have the first "10-15" fall off right away,…
  • I would keep it very light. A 15 minute walk or something similar. Pushing yourself too hard might make you feel worse and set you back some.
